I got a music voucher recently and I don't know what to buy with it so I was wondering if anyone could tell me their favourite bands since I like most of the music in walkthrough videos around here. I like most kinds of music maybe not really heavy stuff, but I adapt easily.

Thousand Foot Krutch FTW!

It is a heavier style, though.

Great bands:

Pink Floyd: My alltime favorite band, even my title under my username is about them. All of their stuff is freaking amazing. They can be hard, deep, space, political, organized and messy.
Metallica: My favorite heavy group, their early stuff is pretty beastly.
Jimi Hendrix: Guitar god, pychodelic master.
Guns N' Roses: Pretty anything off their 1st album. I'll warn you it's raw and ugly though.
Buckethead: Avant Garde guitarest. My main instrumental guy, pretty unique.

Also in general try Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Queen.

COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.

I'll copy and paste from my Facebook profile:

Rush, Richard Bone, Kraftwerk, Taking Back Sunday, Röyksopp, The Knife, Fever Ray, Blink-182, Linkin Park, Pet Shop Boys, Sum 41, Buddy Holly, Ratatat, Eminem, Muse, The Stone Roses, Out Hud, Urban Symphony, MGMT, The Polyphonic Spree, Kiss, Meat Loaf, The Lonely Island, Jimi Hendrix, Yngwie Malmsteen, Fibes Oh Fibes!, Weird Al Yankovich

Some Swedish bands were removed.

Rush - Canadian progressive rock band, famous for songs such as Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio, YYZ

Richard Bone - chill-out music, according to Wikipedia. Not very known.

Kraftwerk - German synth music. Most famous songs are Autobahn, Die Mensch-Maschine and Die Roboter.

Taking Back Sunday - Alternative rock band, made the soundtrack for Transformers - The Movie. Some famous songs include Liar, Makedamnsure and What's it feel like to be a ghost?

Röyksopp - Electropop, synthpop. Famous songs include Poor Leno, Eple and The Girl And The Robot.

The Knife/Fever Ray - Swedish electropop. Fever Ray is the vocalists solo project, with the same sound. Famous songs include: Heartbeats, We Share Our Mother's Health and Pass This On.

Blink-182 - Boy band inspired by punk-pop. I use two of their songs in my walkthroughs here on the site (Boulder Bashing and Zero G II), but I'll share another song with you: All The Small Things.

Linkin Park - Uh, I really think you know them.

Pet Shop Boys - Electropop. The Pipe Dream features one of their songs, The Theatre. They've also made West End Girls:, [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSj4-DMGodQ]Suburbia and a famous cover of Elvis song Always On My Mind.

I don't have time to continue now, so I'll edit this list later.

Celldweller (and Klayton's other stuff), Matchbook Romance, Emigrate, Linkin Park (mostly Meteora) and System of a Down. At the moment I'm also really into Raunchy.
Do note that all of these artists, except for Matchbook Romance, play metal. If you don't want metal, I suggest Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and the Killers (especially Hot Fuss).

Just discovered Kamelot and Rhapsody of Fire - both are symphonic metal bands. If you've heard about and enjoyed bands such as Nightwish/Within Temptation, these ones might suit you.

I found one of Kamelot's songs on Youtube called "Ghost Opera" it's quite "different" then anything I've heard before, lol.

You should listen to something from their album The Black Halo, preferably When the lights are down.

March of Mephisto was my favourite song of theirs when I liked them (and metal). I still listen to it occasionally...

I like Within Temptation. They are the only Dutch metal band that doesn't suck. Still can't compare to Scandinavian metal, though.

I already have Kamelot on my list, but at the moment I'm more into Industrial and Thrash metal bands at the moment than Symphonic or Power Metal bands. If you do like Symphonic Metal, I especially suggest Sonata Arctica.  Also Evanescence, an American Symphonic Metal band comparable to Within Temptation.

I also suggest VNV Nation. A Futuristic Pop band, which means they combine Dance and Rock into a single style. They're not as good as Celldweller, but still very good.

Within are OK but Nightwish is far better. I don't enjoy Scandinacian metal, save a few songs like Denied by Sonic Syndicate.

Next power metal/symphonical metal band - Epica. Very enjoyable, the music is as one could have guesssed epic.
