All-Game Comp #4 - One Trap This comp has already ended and has been judged. Start Date: Monday, Feb 1, 2010 End Date: Sunday, Feb 7, 2010 Game: Content from any game is allowed
Competition Rules: Make a level that only has one trap in it! While the name seems to suggest that you have to make a HATPC cave with only one trap in it, you are actually free to use whatever game you want, as long as it fits the theme.
The goal of this comp is to make small levels. Do not make a giant level that is technically one continuous trap. This comp ends on Sunday, February 7th.

Good thing that my entry is a small level with a short continuous trap.

but yeah, I really should've been less lazy and defined what a trap was. And as of now, there are about 24 hours left in the comp and there are already 12 entries, so I'm not sure what difference it would make if I was more clear right now. but jell's description was great: 'jellsprout' said: A trap is like a molecule. It is composed of elementary, undividable parts (crates 'n stuff in HatPC, atoms in physics), while they themselves are the building blocks of structures (sequences in HatPC, crystals in physics), which are used to construct full complex constructions (caves in HatPC, objects in physics).
There are many other analogies I can make, but all will remain a bit vague. But that is intentional. By making the rules a bit more vague, you will get more freedom in your task and you will have to use your brains more to think "Does this still apply to the theme". lol but now I realize the true fail behind making a one-trap comp, especially since whenever we talk about our caves, we even have trouble knowing what we're talking about when we say, "I died on the nth trap". | | jebby |

It's an easy theme. You can make a level for this in 5 minutes. People always enter such competitions.
