This was a tough competition to judge because of the ambiguity of what exactly is a trap. For instance, I placed Orcasaur as first place, but Jell placed him as 7th for being greater than one trap. Jell had much stricter standards for what a trap is, and he was clear not to confuse them with sequences. Meanwhile, I judged based on my gut feeling of what is or isn't one trap. Despite these differences in opinion, we made no effort to break some ties...

yeah, we really need to seem more organized, but the problem is that we're all too lazy to plan stuff.

You're saying that we should split up the entries into two different rankings? One for traps and another for sequences. However, it will be up to the author of the level to decide if their cave is a trap or a sequence?

Yep. Give 'em three days, if they haven't chosen, then we'll do it for them.

I don't think that would work. Because ultimately we're going to be deciding if their caves really are one trap or a sequence, so if we let them pick, and they choose wrong, then they'll get penalized. But if we pick for them, they'll get the most credibility possible when we judge them

Isnt that sort of like penalizing someone's cave for putting something bad in it? i mean, putting it into which ever category is their choice, and putting that bad section is also their choice.

Random things go inside this box.

Well, that way at least we won't get complaints that we placed them in the wrong category.

Maybe we could place the levels into categories, wait until people accept (or two-three days) and then judge.

sure, but how would we release the results? split the comp into two comps (and log them both in the database as separate comps) or should we just have one list, where 1-8 are one-traps and 9-13 are sequences?

I actually prefer to have just one list. I mean, especially when no one's getting trophies for these.
