It's the weekend and I feel like making a collaborative cave, for those who don't know is a cave where multiple people contribute to its construction.

I really don't know how it would work, but who's interested? Also feel free to use this topic to start collaborative projects that don't include me.

I suggest a co-lab competition.

Why not get people to sign up for different parts of different themed caves?

you mean like a guild cave? I dunno, that's just putting a bunch of people's work together in one piece. What I'm interested is to make a real cave with someone. There are a few ways to do this, such as either splitting the cave in half, like in CSD + SHOS = TEH PWN, or you could take turns in adding traps, like CaveMaking Tennis. I'm interested in trying the cm-tennis style.

yeah, that would be cool. I remember we had a similar comp on the old forum, but what happened was that everyone was randomly assigned a partner, and I think I got stuck with ryo or something and we ended up making nothing.

If we decide to hold a co-lab competition, I suggest that we announce that there will be one one week in advance to make sure people team up with someone.

that's perfect then because the current comp ends next week on Sunday, which means that if the new comp was to start on the Monday after that, then this topic is giving people a week's notice.

Actually I got this cool idea from sup_mus' Wacky_Climb. We could make a vertical cave where as you go up each floor is a different trap, and each floor is made by a different person. That could be really cool. It's like a revive of the old CaveMaking tennis idea, but more orderly

Yeah, that's how I made 'The Melancholic Tower' with angelfish actually. We had trouble sending the codes over to eachother.

we could, but each person may need a different width, and if it stretches to far, not enough people will be able to join the fun.
another thing is that you would have to do someone else's level be you can do another's, which would be somewhat unfair to whoever ends up on the top. or would we do this like csd's wnc?

Random things go inside this box.

We could set a standard width for the level, and then people can make segments based on that. And we should also keep the overall cave relatively short so that people can actually get to the top. And if more people want to join it, we could just make more co-labs.

This is the only correct answer*.

*I suppose Google Docs would also work, but that isn't nearly as fun.
