That's not proof. You're assuming that the reason they got lowered was because the new count was thrown off, as opposed to the old one.

You lost 700 because you probably posted a lot in the chatbox. CSD posted a lot less often than you, in the chat box. Bang jan and sup, we don't know yet. And we may never know. So if we change them back until we find out, we will probably end up just changing them back to the way off old post counts.

I think both of us can agree that CSD has made more than 16 posts in the chatbox, as well as Jell making more than 48 posts in the chatbox. Meanwhile, for some reason, you, I and Livio lose hundreds of posts.

I claim that the old count MAY be thrown off, but that the new one certainly IS thrown off.

you have it backwards. the old count IS, while the new one MAY.

I think we're better off making a list of what affects your post count and how the new count ran. That's what I was trying to do when I realized that deleting new topics didn't decrease the count for the first post. I'll try going over it again now.

We have 2-3 things that confirmed, that have thrown off the old count(Chatbox posts once counted, deleting chatbox posts threw off post count, something about topics). We have nothing that says that the new count is thrown off.

CSD was inactive early on. He became mainly active after Livio changed it so that chatbox posts do not count. It is also possible that me and csd had an argument at some point(in the chatbox), in which the majority of the posts were deleted. This would lower the difference between the two post counts.

Jell just generally doesn't post in the chatbox very often.

And how can you say that the old one MAY be thrown off? Yesterday, my post count went down when I deleted some of my own posts. I'd say that that alone confirms that the old post count IS thrown off. We had a reason for recounting the posts, you know.

Well, I still claim that the new one is thrown off. I'm just too tired to continue arguing.

I just ran the script again to see if what threw us off is still affecting us, and it still is! Catta's post count went down by 4, mine went down by 2, and quirvy went down by 2.

So, is it the script, or is it something else that is throwing us off each day, like deleting chatbox posts?

no, I just tested it by posting in the chatbox, editing the post, deleting the post, and none of that changes your count. I even posted to push one of your posts off the chatbox, but that didn't do anything, but that's expected.

Again I found all of the places in the site that affect your postcount, and I have to assume that I might be mistaking a certain part of the code for something actually useful. In fact, I found this file made by Haily that looks like it's supposed to process the chatbox posts and in this file the post count is set to go up, but I don't think I'm using this file anymore. Plus, I just tested that the chatbox doesn't do anything. I'll look further into this.

Does your code include new topics?

yesI missed this post. and I don't think there's something wrong with my script because it's supposed to be counting everything based on what should be affecting your postcount, which means that if something's wrong, it's one of those things.

And for those who aren't following the chatbox, it turns out that deleting individual posts never changed your count because of a coding error.
