how about, make a thing like that on the side of the pages, one for each game, and when you hold your mouse on it, it'll open the menu? it doesn't take much place at all, since we simply have black stuff on the side.

not everyone has as wide a resolution as you, so if we did that, there would be tons of people who'd have to scroll to the right for everything.

And I think the current setup is pretty good. At least when you rollover the little icon on the left it highlights. Maybe if I could figure out how to get the text next to it to stop highlighting, then it would be even clearer

or, make the NAME of the game clickable-that-is-leading-to-the-game, and the sign for the levels.

that sign is usually known for meaning "new window", so that wouldn't make any sense.

And wouldn't you most often use the link to the levels, rather than the game? Btw, Ctrl+F5 again

Hey Livio, our slogan (or whatever you want to call it) could use some changing to go with the new layout, I think. As is, it's really wordy and not really that coherent. "A User-Level Database of All Games" isn't even grammatically correct (should be "for All Games").

Even changing it to just "A User-Level Database" would be an improvement. The more general "Gaming Community" would be even better, and if you want to explain it further, "Gaming and Level-Design Community" would work too. I think the term "Level-Design" gives a better description of our community than "User-Level Database" does, anyway, especially since I imagine most newcomers will have no idea what the latter means.

I know this has been debated before, but I'm just throwing it out there because I still think it's important.

Level and difficulty ratings are broken. Never bothered to check video ratings. You could probably still rate, but you'd need to make your own copy of the page, or something.

Roll over the FORUMS tab, and there's the link to Member Rankings. I plan to redesign that page, and add that secret comp-related thing jell mentioned at the beginning of the year. EDIT: thanks for posting on top of me...

and yeah, the slight color-change of the background means I have to replace a lot of images. I guess it didn't sound like such a bad idea when I was designing the layout. I could just change the color back to normal, but I like this slight shade difference better.

and about the text under the logo, it always seems to be a dilemma. We could just put nothing? Well, the idea behind the "level database" is what I mentioned under the Reforming the Interguild topic, where we try to present the site as an actual concrete service (which would be the database) in order to gain new members. There's a problem with presenting the site as just a unique community, b/c it doesn't capture many people's attention.

A database sounds like something for the ones already interested in a specific game whereas you know what a community stands for.

Well, that's kinda the idea. We need to attract more fans of those specific games.

We should also make some kind of page that describes what the site is completely about. I tried making one while I worked on the new layout, but I didn't really know what to put. I mean, especially since I stink at explaining stuff.

I really like the new layout! HUGE improvement from the gray and dark blue combo that wasn't working out so well. I repeatedly pushed Livio to try to return somewhat to the color scheme from the original forums.
