I know there at least was a topic for advertising the site, but I think we should say how we found out about the site to help with advertising. I personally found out about it form a video.

really? what video was it? were you just browsing youtube when a hatpc level came up in the related videos box and then it said interguild?

and this is a good idea. Lately it seems like my only form of advertising is posting stuff on facebook and trying to get my friends to come here. If you guys go to any other forums around the internet, maybe put a link in your sig to one of your best levels here or something.

I didn't find the Interguild. The Interguild found me. Or more precisely, Flame did.

The thing is, most of them are occupied blowing soldiers brains out with shotguns, and due to this their imagination has been hindered. Show them Garry's Mod, they'll be more interested in killing people woth the many weapons than building or making comics. And all of them like some big name on everything like 'Activision' ot 'Nintendo' or 'Infinity Ward'. They are not interested in indie games (Or even indie music lol). They are just to braindead to do anything properly, or have debates with proper grammar and take part in a community.

Long story short, I was the leader of the fourth HatPC guild, the Raters guild. About half a year after the Interguild got formed, Flame contacted me to ask if our guild would like to join the Interguild. We agreed. The Raters Guild burned out, but I'm still here.

guyguy, you could probably get them interested in Free Rider 2 or---- no wait a minute! When the game system gets reformed (which will probably be after I finish everything after the blogs) we could start putting Brawl stages and Halo 3 maps on here. Then they'll come....

Nope... Especially with the brawl one. Brawl requires too much intelligent thinking. And apparently Halo 3 is 'old'.

No way with Free Rider 2. They don't like it because there is no killing.

but you can kill yourself in some pretty creative ways in Free Rider 2....

And I guess what your saying makes sense when I look at your age group. My dad's friend's kids are around 10 and they have a bajillion Wii and xbox games but they only play Halo and Call of duty.

We should make some skilled artist (Jell, Livio?) pick some of the top levels, take a screenshot from one and edit it into some nice banner we can use as our signature at other sites.

sounds interesting. Will the banner say something like "[level title] by [author] - play this level, and other levels made by members, at Interguild.org"? That actually sounds like a really good idea for a series of ads to put on other sites. It may not catch someone's interest at first, but the series might interest them after a while enough to click on it and visit us. Maybe I can invest some of the google ad money into that kind of advertisement...

But of course, the level database needs its revamp first...

Look here Livio, the database has been like it is for over 8 months now, and nobody has ever filed a single complaint towards it. It doesn't need any sort of revamp as of now.

So I got this ingenious idea. You know how there's sites such as Jellyneo, PinkPT, Nothingbutneopets and so on that provides a lot of services, including guides to how to collect the gems in the main levels in HatPC? Turns out, none of these have video walkthroughs for these levels, which we have, along with some written guides. Our written guides will probably be too large for these sites, but we can submit all of our video walkthroughs and link to our written guides for additional information.

that's an awsome idea! every guide they have - let's just "allow" them to embed our videos! we have credits there, right? so they'll also have to add a line pointing to us or something. no biggie, but might be efficient!
