Jorster, don't ever save images as .jpg. Always save as .png, or .gif if you intend to make an animation. If you save it is .jpg, the image gets very blurry, as shown in soccerboy's image.

I think i saved that as bmp, because i'm so used to it now.  

.PNG is one of the best to save your sprite files as. I always use PNG for sprites and that sort of thing.

I use .PNG and .GIF . They own.

I don't think you should never use .jpg. Haily says .jpg quality is really good if you choose the correct compression level.

There nothing wrong with the quality. GIF can be worse than JPG in some cases too. Just read the article (link above) and ya'll will be sorry. (You should comment on the article too.)

.jpg is only useful for pictures and other very large images. For small images, such as sprites and emoticons, you should exclusively use .png (or .gif if you are making an animation).

I only used jpeg because photobucket was being really stupid and wouldnt let me upload a gif or png. But trust me i did try...

Use Imageshack. Much more reliable and you don't need an account.

I upload gif AND png to photobucket. They both worked for me.
