As far as the Server World goes, I've got quite a few ideas.

The Rule Room

When you spawn, you appear in a grassy park-like area, complete with a cafe. and around the park are a bunch signs saying the rules. We should take a zero-tolerance policy with rule breakers. The rules are:

#1- No swearing!
#2- Please don't destroy other people's stuff.
#3- No building in Spawn city.
#4- Do NOT ask for promotion. Mods and Admins will give you one when they think you deserve it.
#5- No flaming of any kind. It will not be tolerated.

The only wy out is a peaceful boat ride down a stream.

Spawn City

The Giant Sign

This is our noticeboard, where we put up any site news, building projects and the like. Next to it is a smaller sign to put on requests for building and your projects. If an admin or mod thinks the project is worthwhile, your notice will go on the giant sign.

Museum

The museum tells players about all the blocks of minecraft and has simulations of all the different biomes (Forest, Tundra etc.) and also a Nether simulation.

The Village Pub

Basically just a nice area where players can socialise.

The Never-Ending-Story Alleyway

At the front there is a chest full of signs. The aim is to continue the story from the last sign!

The Stadium

There is a massive PVP stadium, which contains arenas for PVP (In all biomes), obstacle courses, and of course, the spleefing alley- If you fall down, prepare to meet your death in a pit of cacti!

EDIT: -2484616403790488353 is a great seed for a diverse, large world. I think we should use it.
EDIT 2: I built a replica of the Rule Room. I'll show it to you guys later today.

I'll be taking donations on Paypal to fund the server (which is not yet bought). We need a total of 7.95 USD to buy our first month, although we can save money if we buy the server for three months, then it'll be 22.95 USD. What do you want to go with? I say that we start out with one month and if we find it to be fun, then we'll go with three months later on.

You can send donations to the following Paypal account: axelwikmail@gmail.com

One month tester, then we may invest in an entire year or a few months. I'll give two pounds towards it, since I've just found fifteen pounds in my pockets, lol.

That's awesome. 2 GPB is, with Paypal's fees, roughly equivalent to 2.80 or 2.90 USD. This means that we're almost halfway towards our goal already when you've donated your sum. Yay!

I'll put in 25 SEK (I think that'd be around 3.8 USD) so we only need a few more bucks for this. All donations towards my account will be used for buying the server, and should we go over 7.95 USD, then I'll save them for the next payment.

I donated £3, which should get you to your total. If this is popular and I get mod privileges, I'll donate £5 a month.

More yay! Thanks a lot, Jeb.

Alright, your 3 GBP converted into 4.27 USD (Paypal took 32 pence during the transaction, standard percentual fee). If Guyguy donates 2 GBP, it'll be roughly 2.83 USD (I did an estimation of the fee, and then calculated). I'm donating the rest of the sum, however, I don't have any money of my own on my Paypal account except for 0.03 USD I had left since my last transaction. I'm transferring money from my bank to Paypal tomorrow, and Paypal will receive it at Tuesday or Wednesday. If Guyguy donates earlier or at the same time, that means we should have our server up and running at that time.

Sadly, it asks for a card number, and there is no card number field in the first place.

EDIT: NVM, it was glitching up that time. It's working now. Wait a few minutes, then it should be ready.

What credit card do you have?

You should ask your parents for help with donating, they can transfer money easily.

It was just glitching up (It would only appear if you selected a certain choice on the credit card payment type, and then remain if you changed it), and yes, my dad was doing it.

#1- No swearing! - Interguild rules on language apply.
#2- Please don't destroy other people's stuff. - I agree, but should be changed to "Do NOT destroy other peoples creations, unless you have permission to do so from the creator".
#3- No building in Spawn city. - I wanted this a bit more complicated then that.  You can get certain plug-ins, so you can allow only certain people to build in a certain area.  People can build in the spawn city, but only once we give them a plot of land.
#4- Do NOT ask for promotion. Mods and Admins will give you one when they think you deserve it. - 100% right!
#5- No flaming of any kind. It will not be tolerated. - I agree

The only way out is a peaceful boat ride down a stream. - Hmmm... maybe no the boat ride, since boats are extremely glitchy and unpredictable in SMP. :/

Spawn City

The Giant Sign

This is our noticeboard, where we put up any site news, building projects and the like. Next to it is a smaller sign to put on requests for building and your projects. If an admin or mod thinks the project is worthwhile, your notice will go on the giant sign. - I like this; the ideas part.  The rules is a given.

Museum

The museum tells players about all the blocks of minecraft and has simulations of all the different biomes (Forest, Tundra etc.) and also a Nether simulation. - Or better yet, I saw one server, where there was a multi-level rules tower, each level having a different theme.  The way it was put together was brilliant, and it made the rules fun to read.

The Village Pub

Basically just a nice area where players can socialise. - In spawn city, of course.  See, most people don't hang around in a certain area, though.  They usually hang out where they are building something, or at spawn.  Then again, this might encourage people to come together more often.

The Never-Ending-Story Alleyway

At the front there is a chest full of signs. The aim is to continue the story from the last sign! - I like this one. It'll have to be monitored daily, though.

The Stadium

There is a massive PVP stadium, which contains arenas for PVP (In all biomes), obstacle courses, and of course, the spleefing alley- If you fall down, prepare to meet your death in a pit of cacti! - Spleef is hard when the blocks aren't on insta-destroy.  But an arena is always fun, and we can have prizes even, for tournament winners.

EDIT: -2484616403790488353 is a great seed for a diverse, large world. I think we should use it.
EDIT 2: I built a replica of the Rule Room. I'll show it to you guys later today.

One other thing, as well, is that one rules should be is: "If you ask for items, we are not required to give it to you.  If you don't receive at first, wait for a while, and you will probably get it."  Now, there should be rules for Builders giving new players items, so that should be limited to Mods and up.  And if a person is showing a lack of maturity, and simply not impressing any one of us, then we will certainly deny them requests.

And as for banned items:

1. Bedrock - A given
2. Lava/Laval Buckets - A bit harder to grief
3. Flint and Steel - No more burning down houses
4. Obsidian - Banned for newbies, Builders and up are fine.

I am going to create a couple polls.

I've received Guyguy's donation! For some reason, Paypal didn't draw a fee on it, so we now have, after the currency exchange, 7.49 USD. We're just 46 cent short, so we can either wait for my transaction to complete in two or three days, or if possible, someone can donate a small sum and we can buy it as soon as I get the notification.

A cool thing about the giant sign is that you can go inside it (at least in my replica) and it has a word of the day inside.
Also, shouldn't TNT be banned?

I agree wholeheartedly, but only because when I read it, I instantly thought that we should ban it because how it was the namesake to The Neopets Team

Awesome! We now have 8.70 USD, which is more than enough.

THANK YOU, JEBBY AND GUYGUYXTREME, FOR DONATING TO THE FIRST MINECRAFT INTERGUILD SERVER.

I'll buy the server now. When I'm done, I'll be back with IP's and more information.

(The server will be located in Dallas - it's the only option, somehow )

Awesome!  We need banners for the site that advertise our MC server, and such.  Though, maybe we should wait a week or two, so we have SOMETHING to show off.

Wow this is a big step for the IG.
