Welcome back, my friends! I've been sitting here next to my small window for a long time now, looking out over Lake Placid, waiting for a blue Pawkeet to arrive with a letter from my dearest Hannah. Wouldn't you believe it, I haven't moved at all since you fellas left me! Fortunately, my stubbornness has rewarded me: Just a few moments ago, the sound of a pair of small wings reached my ears, and the promised letter finally arrived. The words are scribbled down with some haste, I think, because it's a bit hard to read her writing. These old eyes don't see what they once did...I'll read this for you, and check me for errors, will you?

"Hey Gramps!

How are you doing? I hope you're not sitting at home worrying about me - I'm doing just fine.
I just arrived to this odd cave system, I think it's completely unexplored! If it is, I'll be the first one to ever set my paw here! Hopefully I'll get to name it as well, if that's the case. I think I'll call it...the Python caves, maybe? Yeah, that sounds good.

This place is so fascinating! Rumours has it that two persons, a young male inventor and his little sister, have been here decades ago, trying to explore these areas. Mars, as he preferred to call himself, had designed an amazing tool for creating maps of all the caves he visited, designed to work without him even touching his creation! Of course, he needed to test it, so he went to some of the caves in his local area that he already knew, and lo and behold, his invention worked! However, he needed to test it on caves he didn't already know in order for it to have any use - see, Mars knew that he could probably have sold his invention to someone (like me!) without testing it, but his plan was to test it out in different settings to make sure that it'd work everywhere, then make copies of it and handle out to everyone!
Grandpa, do you realize how much that would have meant for someone like me? At the start of my current quests, I only have a poorly drawn map that doesn't even mention anything about the inhabitants of the caves I'm searching through. The lightning in the caves are so poor that it's pointless to try to sketch my surroundings, so no matter what, I'm stuck with the same poor map. This tool could fit into my pocket and draw up everything as I walk past it!
Anyway, to test this invention, he had to go to a new cave system, preferably unexplored...and so he began to search. His search ended here, at these nameless rocks, in the middle of nowhere. To get through, he had to bring his sister, Anna. She was a young lass, aspiring to be an adventurer, ready for her first real mission. When he told her that he needed assistance in one of his tasks and said that she'd join him on an exploration quest, she was more than eager to come with him. They went down the caves...and that is the last anyone heard of them.

I hope these rumours are true. If they are, maybe Mars and Anna are still down there? I hope that they are, as long as they're still alive. That'd be a triumph. If they are down there, but dead, that might still mean that I'll find Mars's invention! Oh, the wonders it'd do for me...of course, for their sake, I hope they've been living on mushrooms and other things down there. I hope that we (Armini's with me as well, if Mars needed someone, I figured I'd do it as well) won't encounter anything else than them down there though. I'm not in the mood for any random encounters.

I think that this cave system will take me quite a while to finish - these caves are huge, and I'll have to search through every single one if I want to find Mars and Anna. I'll be sure to keep Pawks busy with sending you my letters, so that you won't have to worry about me!

I'll write you again tomorrow, grandpa. Take care of yourself, and get out in the sun - don't just sit in your hut and wait for my letters, live life to its fullest, like I am doing!

Many hugs,

Hannah."

The second Interguild Mafia Game has begun!

Some Quick Reminders:
- If you are not playing in this game, do not post in this thread.
- Do not talk about the game outside this thread -- this include other threads, the chatbox, and especially through private messages. The Protagonists and the dead each have their own secret forum in which they are permitted to talk about the game, however.
- Do not post a quote of anything that I send you in PMs or posted in any secret forums. Don't even post something that I supposedly told you, even if you made it up.
- Do not edit your posts, even if just fixing a trivial mistake. Just this once, double posting is preferred.
- Stay active; I will attempt to replace anybody that I feel is not posting enough.
- Please bold any and all Votes and Unvotes. I will not be held responsible for missing any votes that were not bolded.
- Feel free to PM me any questions you may have. Remember to wait for a reply before sending a second PM, as we have only limited space in our inboxes. You have limited inbox too, by the way, so if there's anything important that I PM you, you might want to save it somewhere, so you can go back and look at it later.

The goal of the day phase, for the crate alliance, is to lynch a member of the Protagonist alliance. If you believe somebody to be a protagonist, you may vote for him or her (Vote by saying Vote: Livio, for example). You can only vote for one person at a time, but, if your opinions change, you can change your vote ("Unvote" by saying Unvote: Livio, for example). Once more than half of the alive players have voted for a single player, that player is lynched and removed from the game, ending the day phase. Now, voting isn't just for lynching, however. A crucial part of this game is observing how people are voting and how they are responding to being voted for. The protagonists are trying to blend in with you, but they won't want each other to be lynched. Everything everybody says is a subtle clue in deciphering who is a protagonist and who isn't.

Periodically throughout the day I will post vote counts. If you would like me to post an updated vote count, say so, and I will if I can. Along with voting you can also raise a "FoS" (Finger of Suspicion) and "unFoS" people, to let them know that, at the least, you're finding them suspicious. Please bold these as well (FoS: Livio, for example), as I will post them along with vote counts. Unlike votes, you can FoS as many people as you like, but they don't actually have any affect on the game, other than officially making your suspicions known.

Roster:
1. Guyguyxtreme
2. Jellsprout
3. Yaya
4. Harumbai
5. Silver
6. Bmwsu
7. Thomas
8. DeathBunni X
9. Nebnebben
10. Canadianstickdeath
11. Soccerboy13542
12. Jazz
13. Quirvy

With 13 alive, it takes 7 votes to lynch.
Deadline for the day phase: May 22, 2011, 11:59PM Interguild Time.

Good luck to all!

This seems kind of weird because the protagonist are the guys who the majority of the people are trying to eliminate, but protagonists usually aren't the type of people you want to kill.

Anyways, the exclamation point in Thomas' post tells me that he is hiding something, probably that he wants us all dead or that he wants the majority of us dead. Regardless of which one it is, we should probably just lynch him already because he's clearly up to no good.

this sentence seems kind of weird because it are should be "usually aren't".

Everything else in that post makes sense to me, though.

The exclamation point is there because I'm not serious business. Quirvy, I wouldn't be surprised if you're protagonist.

If exclamation points mark that you're not serious business, and that you claim to be not serious business, then why did you end both sentences with periods instead of exclamation points? I think I smell the stench of a liar.

Today is the 11th of May where I live, and "protagonist" has 11 letters, which leads me to believe every person to post so far is "protagonist" with the exception of myself because I pointed out this deceptive deception.

What a strange plot.  I guess we need more discussion to guess who's who.

Also, wouldn't they be 'antagonist' instead...?

But I'm not gonna make a vote now.

inb4 Thomas saying we should lynch me

I like this story very well. You write good stories, Isa! And this Mafia started with a blast. I hope we can keep it active all the way.
No votes for now, I want to wait a bit longer before deciding.

The first day is pretty slow, huh. All I've got so far is that Thomas and Yaya, are probably not both evil or they wouldn't draw attention to each other but that could be a trick. Anyway lets get this started...

Yeah, theres probably not going to be any lynching, because nobody has enough information yet, woe betide anybody who does get lynched today Also I think suspecting Thomas is a bit much after just one exclamation mark, maybe its just the rivalry between you?

Anybody going to FoS yet? Not even to stir up activity?

I'm posting to announce that I'm going away on May 20th and I won't be back until May 27th so don't get too suspicious of me!

@nebnebben I think we should lynch somebody who does not post here often.

But are the people who post the least, bigger suspects or the people who post the most? Because the people who post the most might have more to hide, so by posting more they are trying to cover themselves up? Is this a good theory, or wrong in every way?

@nebnebben People who don't post often are likely trying to hide something so they can be suspects. It doesn't mean somebody who posts a lot isn't a suspect at all tough but it's a way to build a list of suspects.

According to Isa from the last game it's no loss to lose somebody who doesn't post and apparently statistics show it's a good thing to do.

This story about Mars and Anna finding an unexplored cave and never being heard from again gives me terrible flashbacks of Ted's Caving Page.

I also have this urge to vote for Thomas already just because he is already starting to annoy me, but I suppose I'll start a bit more serious this time. If he gets too annoying I can always vote for him later.

Thomas and Quirvy are either just normally arguing or (possibly) are both Mafia and are arguing so no-one suspects they are together. Also Thomas is making loads of crazy accusations to try and stir up suspicion against not mafia. That or he's just trolling. To be honest though, this is just a guess, and I don't have any evidence to support any really conclusive theories.

FoS: Quirvy

This is more for activity than anything. I just think that making a suspicion over exclamation points is incredibly silly. I know it's the first day, but there must be better things to suspect people about other than punctuation?

I know that this was probably an attempt to be humourous, but I'm beginning to have doubts after Jells performance in the last game, and it was perhaps a filler post against inactivity? Probably not, but as the town we need to follow every clue we can.
