IceCaves automatically resizes big avatars to it's better than IG.

We used to have that too, but it was slowing down our site so we got rid of it, and the time for each page to load went down immediately.

Haily figured out a new way of resizing avatars without slowing down pages. He only uses the getimagesize() function when you submit the account settings page and that gets the image dimensions and stores them in the database and whenever he displays a users avatar he retrieves the dimensions from the database and resizes the image with the width and height attributes of the image tag. The only page slowed down slightly is when you press submit on the account settings page but the difference is not even noticeable.
