It'd be tough for me to run it because university frequently makes me disappear for extended periods of time. I guess it would give me an incentive to come online more often. Despite being more stressful, I actually like the idea of having an excuse / being forced to come online more frequently. Perhaps you guys could email me whenever the server is having problems so that you won't be waiting 2-3 weeks for me to do something important. Either way, having someone like Isa help would be great too.

There's something wrong with their site. Everything's in German, but when I switch to English, there is no effect. Not even Chrome's built-in page translator works! Seriously, what's with this.

On the new server, can I be promoted to arcitect, as I have two project's that would benefit from it. One is a secret, but the other is re-building my blimp above spawn city. This would be much easier to do with WorldEdit, and I'm not sure that I can face building it by hand again.

I just need to figure out if we need MySQL on our server. I can't find anything telling me why I would need it, but I sure am finding lots of discussions on how to use MySQL for craftbukkit. Did we need/have MySQL on the last server?

Having it crash has recently made me wonder if there is someway we can clone a server. So if anything like this happens again, and I didn't even have time to show everyone my secret missile base, then we have some way of connecting to some sort of sister server. Just an idea.

Livio, yeah the english version of the site is a little bit buggy but if you need anything translated, just ask me. I'd vote for the german hoster, because of the unlimited RAM, which is the most important thing for Minecraft. And the german hoster won't just disappear like brohoster did.

lol too late. But maybe by next summer we could consider switching to the german hoster (which we should really refer to as g-portal.de) to deal with the summer rush.

And it is possible to clone a server's world onto another server, but we decided not to do that this time (see above poll).

Wow, sorry to bump this, but Club Uptime and Brohoster are back up, I wonder if we could get server #1 back, because this is their open letter, even saying that they will give one free month of hosting and a 25% recurring discount to past costumers that had their server for whatever they were hosting and lost it.

I still have a backup of the server, so it's still entirely possible to get the old server back up. But that poll...

I'm not sure if I want to get back to Brohoster. We're currently paying $6 month, so Brohoster better give us a better deal than that.

If so, then redo the poll, and rename this topic "Should we bring back the old server?", or you could make a new topic for that, but I think we will have 7 yeas and 3 nays.
