Another Monday, another competition.
For this competition, you must first take a level made by another caver. Remove everything except for the terrain, and remake it as your own.
Examples are Quirvy's Reborn series, where he took some levels from the main game and remade them into new levels.

HatPC Comp #32: Reborn
This comp has already ended and has been judged.
Start Date: Monday, Nov 2, 2009
End Date: Sunday, Nov 15, 2009
Game: Only HATPC content is allowed

Competition Rules:
You may not use a cave of your own. You must use a cave made by another person.
You may change the terrain a little, but not too much. The cave's lay-out must still be recognisable.
Name your 'cave's name_Reborn' to make clear what cave you are remaking. If it doesn't fit, you may shorten the name.
Have fun!

GET! ME! MORE! TIME!
...
i mean, in a day. 24 hours just isn't enough. i have a feromagnetics experiment to be tested on on wed, and i have no idea even how it goes. tomorrow i have an absurd test in school in physics which should be fairly easy, and the next day i have another test in school in computer science..

israel is. this course is practically a collection of experiments. I have done the photoelectric effect, in which you calculate planck's const; i have done electron - which calculates electron's mass; and i'm gonna do the ferromagnets one, which shows the hystersis thingie. we work with a program that reads the data from the sensors directly that's cool.

For the moment, I've replaced Snowflake of Doom Reborn with Inclines Reborn, but I may switch back depending on feedback, if I get any.

I considered Imperio as well, but it was so large, that I chose not to. Then again, Inclines is also pretty big as well.

As shos already said, you can still do a cave if someone else is doing it. Although, at least this is an indication that someone other than me is giving an effort into making a comp entry.

And if you don't finish it in time, we can probably give a little mini-extension for you, especially if we only have 2-4 entries.

quirvy, i wonder; if you have time, i'd really like to see an imperio reborn from you too

for the next comp, we can make a comp of a specific cave reborn. and the reborn caves will earn extra points for matching themes and stuff. this could be cool.

it could be really cool to make an imperio reborn. No one ever pays attention to its terrain.. But they'll have to fill in that giant crawl space with steel crates or something

...

I dunno about that. It's terrain design looks really challenging to deal with (ei: Long crawlspace, long ladder)

Plus, it's really really huge. Inclines was too, but that had a less awkward terrain layout. Although, it did have that huge empty space at the bottom...

And I use my accessible areas! So I don't want to torture my players with this gigantic crawlspace/ladder

yeah that's why I suggest filling that up as a means of getting rid of it.

but it's the difficult design that would make it interesting to work with

Yeah, like what I did with Inclines. I didn't even look at the cave, deleted everything, and started the cave where the door was(and put the door near where the start of the original was). But, since I'm awesome, I didn't just fill up some space where it was hard. An example of this is that in the original, there was this area where terrain was split by dynamite, so that the player couldn't enter the area where the dynamite previously was. Instead of doing something lame, like filling it up, I reused it and placed a dynamite speed trap in the area. But there's no way I'd reuse that pathetic part of imperio. Oh boy. Crawling around the top of a cave. Really exciting/challenging.

Other than that, imperio would probably be pretty doable.

It is the easiest of the three. If you find mine hard, you'll have massive trouble with the other two.
