Yes, what Ckjr said is true. The Interguild Olympics is not a rumor, it's the largest competition that we'll ever hold!

This is a MAJOR competition, and we plan on making summer olympics and winter olympics. Accel originally thought of this, and posted about it on the old Interguild:



Jell discovered this only a few days ago, and informed us mods about it. As for now, the idea is that we are holding a lot of themed competitions at once, with an Olympic feel. Ideas include:

100m = Short, fast caves
800m = Medium sized, medium pace
Marathon = Long, slow caves
Relay races = Pair caves
Swimming = Underwater caves
Diving = Partly underwater caves
Pole vault = Caves traveling upwards, then downwards
Equestrian = Monster caves
Football (Soccer) = Boulder Caves
Archery = Arrow caves

These categories are not set in stone, and you are able to influence these categories. Just tell us what you think and we'll be thinking about it, and possibly include it.

This will be held during 1st July and 31st August. This is to make sure that you have time to enter in as many categories as possible. We don't really expect you to enter in all of these, but the more you enter, the more fun the competition will be!

We haven't decided if old caves are allowed, but personally I think that caves released from this day and onward can be submitted. This is to make sure you don't put all of your caves on hold just to submit them to the comp.

How many categories would be good? Should all games be included or only HatPC? Discussion is needed. Tell us what you think!

trampolining- jumping caves?

there should be something for puzzle caves, I don't know what you'd call it though.

cave with seperate different sections maybe could be pentathalon or something.

I informed Ckjr about this and when the rules are set, I'll tell him them, he'll make caves and send them to me, which I will submit to his account and enter in the proper category.

Marathon could be a long puzzle cave.

I didn't actually know Trampolining was an Olympic sport.

What if high jump was kind of like an upside-down j shaped cave!

Onarole, that's pretty much like pole vault, so odds are it isn't getting added But if you come up with any other ideas that would be awesome!

Yaya, yeah, that's pretty much what we thought too. Jell wasn't sure if we should add sport names to the themes but I think that you guys wouldn't enjoy it as much then.

Oh man, for a second I thought you were starting the whole thing. That would've made me really mad because my last post before I left last week was: Anyway, I really don't think this should be a newspost especially if you're just announcing a discussion.

But this post and the continued conversation in the mods forum is also doing an extraordinary job of confusing me. When did we shift the idea to only-HATPC, and when did we decide to have so many categories for it? Help? Did I miss something that was delete or are did the bunnies just take over all of this?

Gymnastics- dodging/arrow/falling object avoiding cavs.

Sounds like a good idea, but maybe more like "Constant Motion"...I dunno, what do you other guys think?

I think we need categories for other games too.

Maybe besides HATPC, just a comp for each of the categories?

Hurdles could be the Platformer's comp's name? 'Cause of all the jumping?

Hurdles for Platforming.
Chess for Puzzle.
Cross-country for Freeform.
I have no idea what could be used for Other Games.
Pentathlon, where you have to submit a level for each category and for HatPC and you get judged on their combined value.

How many other games do we have exactly? ZC and Crush the Castle? Could be tough for pentathlon hopefuls. I think we thought of something similar earlier, but it was just that you had to enter at least 5 comps to qualify, and you chose what you thought were your best 5.

Like what? Styles on Textareas for txt-type games: Jellsprout? Huh? lol.

And is Chess an Olympic sport? Even if it isn't, I guess it doesn't really matter that much. I mean, assuming you don't mind getting arrested by the consistency police.

I don't know if chess is an Olympic sport. It was the first mindsport that I could think off.

We could do tennis or field hockey in the Other category. They are different enough.

It is good that people are forced to create an Other game level. So far you are the only one who has made one so far.

So when u are starting the olympics? June? Most probably not as you are just starting to disscuss.

holy cow I thought it was between July 1st and July 31st. And I still thought that might've been too long.
