Jell, you have to see "Cat From Outer Space". It is the best movie in existence. Go watch it or I will eat your cats.

Would it be legitimate to briefly suspend bang_jan for spam in this topic?

This thread has 1558 posts. According to wolframalpha, one post in this thread is 0.06418%. On this page, bang jan posted three times. That is at least 0.19% of the thread's posts. Of the last 4 pages, not including this non-complete one, bang_jan posted an average of 6 times. We can guess that he has posted between 20% and 25% of the posts in this thread.

This extrapolation is faulty!

I think I've said this before, but I do not answer questions in binary. At least not if I don't feel like it.

A warning would be better.

I don't think any staff member is opposed to the idea of you not posting in this thread for a while.

I am guessing about 3%. He only started asking a lot of questions this past year.

Do you believe that everyone should switch to a language such as Esperanto or do you believe that there should be linguistic diversity?

I think everyone should learn English as a secondary language for international communication, but should still keep their primary language for day-to-day communication.
I would actually prefer Latin over English, as English is pretty much the worst language ever conceived, but so many people already know English that it would be more convenient.

Why not a language like Chinese? I think that's the most spoken language in the world.

The top three appear to be Mandarin, English, and Spanish. But that's besides the point. I meant to ask "Why not a non-romantic and non-germanic language like Chinese?"

Chinese is not a language. I think you mean Mandarin.
And I think English could very well be the most spoken language in the world. It is just not the most common first language in the world. India has like 500 different languages, so the Indians mostly speak English to communicate with each other. That is already the second largest country in the world.
In comparison, Mandarin is spoken only in China and it isn't even the only first language spoken there.

Same with Spanish. There are a lot of people who speak it as a first language, but not that many who speak it is a second.

why does the saying go "at me wits end" as opposed to, say, "at my wick's end" because, ya know, a wick is what keeps a candle burning, and when it ends its done or handled all it can handle, which is essentially what the saying is, well, saying
EDIT: I have actually heard people say wicks end, but I MUCH more commonly hear people say wits end

I currently (as in just a few hours ago) started learning Polish via Rosetta Stone
