@Mymop:
Capacity:

    24 troops (seated), 32 troops (floor loaded), or
    20,000 lb (9,070 kg) of internal cargo, or up to 15,000 lb (6,800 kg) of external cargo (dual hook)
    1× Growler light internally transportable ground vehicle

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_Boeing_V-22_Osprey#Specifications_.28MV-22B.29

@Krotomo: Consider I had never heard of that thing before your question, I don't have much of an opinion on it.

Would a soldier (Nazi or otherwise) in WWII refer to the Axis as the Axis, or was that a name that popped up later in history or something?

Jellsprout, why are you babysitting only two or three shots? Let me you how to turn it up a notch: First you get a swimming pool full of liquor then you dive in it.

The term "axis" is believed to have been first coined by Hungary's fascist prime minister Gyula Gömbös, who advocated an alliance of Nazi Germany, Hungary, and Italy. He worked as an intermediary between Germany and Italy to lessen differences between them to achieve such an alliance.

Considering Gombos died in 1936, it is safe to assume the term is older than that.

@Yaya
I wouldn't recommend that. Alcohol has about 79% the density of water, so a decent liquor of 40% would be about 90% the density of water. This combined with alcohol's lower viscosity means that it should be fairly difficult to swim in such a pool. Not to mention that the vapours will reduce your oxygen intake by such a degree that you probably can't keep the effort up for a very long time.

I need to find out about stuff about the new bridge that they're building to cross the Hudson River for an ELA essay, so just tell me about it or link me to a website about it please.  And make sure it's about the new one under construction, not the old one that's supposed to collapse any minute or something.

EDIT:  Is it alright if I use you as an information source for all of my ELA assignments?

@Mymop: By searching for "new bridge hudson river" on Google I found this site: http://www.newnybridge.com/
No idea if that is what you need, but if it is I think it should provide enough information.
And you could use me as information source, but I think it would be better for you if you learned to properly use Google yourself. Saves everybody a lot of trouble.

@Soccerboy: I could calculate this if I had the surface pressure of alcohol vapor and diffusion rate of alcohol in air. Alternatively, if I assume equilibrium heat conditions, I could try to calculate this by calculating the rate at which the heat diffuses away from the pool and setting it equal to the evaporation enthalpy of the alcohol. But for both these methods I need to have some constants I don't have at hand currently. I could try it later.

@Kro: I have no preference. They are all delicious.

@Atvelonis: I am planning to, but the group of friends I usually go to the cinema with have no interest in seeing it.

It toggles the numpad on or off. If it is off, the keys instead act as arrow keys or the Insert/Home/Delete/etc block.

I need to know about nuclear energy for a science project, so tell me everything you know about how a nuclear power plant/reactor works, advantages and disadvantages of nuclear power, how a nuclear power plant harnesses nuclear energy, etc.

Uranium-238 absorbs neutron and becomes uranium-239. This is highly unstable and splits into two new atoms. The products of this fission is random, but on average about 3 new neutrons are produced. If on average one of these neutrons is absorbed by another uranium-238 atom, the reaction continues and is stable. If less is absorbed, it sub-critical and will die out, if more is absorbed it is super-critical and will cause a chain reaction.
During these fissions heat is created in the form of gamma radiation and kinetic energy of both the product atoms and the neutrons. The surrounding water captures this energy and heats up. This creates steam, which powers a generic steam engine.

There is some more about neutron mirrors, moderators, fast and slow neutrons and other such stuff which mostly has to do with the criticalness or something of the reactor, but this is pretty much the basics.

Adventages:
-Highly sustainable. Current generation plants should be able to provide power for the next century, next generation plants for over a millennium.
-Very safe. Taking mining, construction, waste and production into account, there are less deaths per produced kWh of energy associated with nuclear energy than any other form of energy. Yes, even solar and hydro energy kill more people than nuclear energy.
-High energy production per square mile. This is especially relevant when comparing to solar, wind and hydro energy, which take up massive amounts of space.
-Extremely low carbon emissions per per produced kWh.

Disadvantages:
-Requires very large amounts of cooling water, making it inconvenient to place away from coastlines.
-Might be hazardous in disaster-prone areas.

Furthermore, the waste problem isn't really a problem at all. Even if we go over to nuclear energy full-scale, the nuclear waste is several orders of magnitude less than the highly toxic waste associated with the chemical industry, and these can get stored perfectly well too. And the actually dangerous waste degrades very quickly into less dangerous waste because of its high radioactivity (high radioactivity = short half-value time = gone pretty fast) and can be stored inside the reactors until they have decayed enough. Hell, in next generation reactors this "waste" will even be used as another source of energy.
The low and medium radioactive waste is only dangerous on prolonged exposure and can be stored pretty easily.

In comparison to other sustainable energy sources, nuclear plants need far less construction materials per kW. This is especially relevant for rare-Earth metals such as neodymium, which are essential for wind turbines, or semiconductor dopant metals such as indium or gallium, which are essential for solar cells.

this is wrong. there are plenty of ways to engineer a nuclear power plant, plenty of solutions to (almost) every possible problem.

the other things in jell's post are correct.

@mympo: if you need any more info, specific questions answered, etc, you're welcome to ask me, I'm certified in this, and I've lectured on the subject in university, etc etc
