There were no ties at all in this competition, most of the judges agreed on all the rankings.

I'd just like to add a note for everybody intending to enter a future contest, stick to the theme. Jazz was the only entrant who followed the theme entirely.

2nd: canadianstick... (HATPC) - Quirvy
4th: No Title (HATPC) - sinpokman
3rd: Plasma (HATPC) - krotomo
1st: Potpourri (HATPC) - jazz

I never tried Pot, but I actually like CS... Did it not win because it didn't 100% stick to the theme, or is Pot just that awesome (pun not intended?).

If CS had fit the theme I would have rated it first, but I don't know about the other judges.

Upcoming HatPC level: Sanctuary, coming soon to an internet browser near you...

It stuck 0% to the theme. Canadianstick... isn't a word and the only thing he did in his cave to match the title was use the letters in his cave.
For those interested, this was my arguementation:

I'll give my oppinions on each individual level:

-Canadianstick... by Quirvy:
He didn't follow the competition theme at all. Canadianstick... isn't a word and all he did in the cave was use those letters. Massive penalty points. The cave itself is at least nice. Perhaps a bit too difficult, but nothing too bad.
-NoTitle by sinpokman:
Again a cave that doesn't follow the theme at all. Don't people realise these competitions have themes? Again massive penalty points. The cave itself is nice, but I didn't really like it as much as Canadianstick.... Too much regular stuff and not too much original traps.
-Plasma by Krotomo:
At least this one has a single word as title, but I don't really see what Plasma has to do with the cave itself. I suppose I could see a slight resemblence between dynamite explosions and plasma, but it is still very slight. The cave itself isn't impressive either. Just basic speed and accuracy traps that have existed since 2003.
-Potpourri by Jazz:
Potpourri is a stew made from a wide variaty of ingredients. This level is composed out of many different trap types, such as speed, puzzle and accuracy. This level follows the theme quite well.
The level itself isn't too bad either. It is of nice difficulty, a bit too high perhaps, but it is still nicely designed.

My personal ranking would be:
1. Potpourri - Jazz
2. Plasma - Krotomo
3. Canadianstick... - Quirvy
4. NotTitle - Sinpokman

I don't see how canadianstick... isn't a word. It's not in the dictionary, sure, but you can't say it's not a word, just because it's someone's shortened username. And I did indeed base a cave around "canadianstick..."

Either way, I sure as hell wouldn't have entered anything other than that. The whole concept behind the comp was ridiculous. You can't just pick a random word out of a dictionary, and use it.

I just took a random word from the dictionary. Nontheatrical. Okay, what am I supposed to do with that? Try again, I guess. Uncooperative. Again, what? Amylopsin. No. And then on my 4th try, I get fairground, the only word that comes close to being usable, and even so, it wouldn't be easy to use, and wouldn't be very fun for me, personally, to make. Perhaps this is why you only got 1 entry that correctly followed the rules.

I'm not gonna go crazy because of this, I'm just saying, that this wasn't exactly the easiest comp, IMO, considering that you couldn't do anything easy, like "Lake", or "Explosive" (From what I recall from the rules), without also getting penalized.

But again, second place isn't bad. I just don't like people trying to discredit my entry as completely falling out of the guidelines of the comp.

Also, as a side note, you mention about Kroto's title at least having 1 word in it, probably as an upside compared to "canadian stick" and "No title", but as the rules say:

Also, this time you can pick multiple words if you want and use them to make some crazy phrases.

No matter how terrible the rules are, if you don't follow them you will get ranked lower than a cave that does follow them.
And for complaining about the theme, you need to go to Accel. I merely judged.

Yeah, but you cannot say that I followed the guidelines 0% just because it wasn't exactly what you had in mind.
