Another browsing option has been added, which is the "Your Favorites" page. Right now this page shows you all of the levels that you have rated a 7/10 or higher, and it automatically orders your levels by the ratings that you gave them.

This means that your favorites page can get automatically filled the more you use our level database and on how you rate levels. And it encourages more ratings and more commenting on levels. Along with the new option to order levels by your ratings and by difficulty, this further lets you customize the level database to be viewed based on your tastes.

But you can also add a level to your favorites manually by clicking the "Add to Favorites" button when you are viewing a level.
NOTE: I'm not sure how the favorites page works for everyone right now. I've coded it to make references from three database tables, which can make things pretty slow, but I've been trying to make things run faster, and now that it seems to be running smoothly, I don't know how it'll be for everyone else. So please report any issues.

UPDATE: You now have the freedom to change the minimum-required rating for levels to be added automatically to your favorites. This also brings the functionality to completely disable the automatic-favorites if you put anything greater than 10

this is unrelated, but when you a browsing through a specific game, a link will come up that will take you to that game's forum board. Should be helpful when you want to look up some unread posts.

Favorites work/are fixed! Check the news post for some necessary information

Shos: that could be b/c you rated the Long Fall very highly. Converting that level did not delete the original ratings, so yeah....

Krotomo: you can easily look it up, but: this is the long fall: http://www.interguild.org/levels/index.php?id=521

I'd prefer it if the favorites rating becomes 8.5. 7 is just too low. There are many levels in my favorites list which I think are just avarage.

Hey, you know what I noticed? Most levels are being rated challenging instead of normal. If normal is really normal, then why aren't most levels being rated normal?

If challenging is normal, then why isn't it called normal?

Just because it's more occurring doesn't mean it's normal difficulty.

we here, usually make harder-than-normal caves because normal caves are...normal. you want your cave to be unique, special, and usually it comes togehter with at least challanging diffculty.

Same here. These days people only focus on difficulty. Instead they should focus on new ideas. People lack originality and because of that I don't enjoy the caves today as much.
And the levels are too big. As I've said before, nothing takes away your motivation like dying to a random spike 15 minutes into the level.

I like to make levels that are 60x60. to me that is a perfect size.

he for archiving purposes, we should keep going back old levels and rating their difficulty. We need more levels to be rated for super easy, easy, and normal. These levels are usually easy to spot with the map generator.

That whole conversation really depressed me, lol, it's a sad realization, but it's true. There are aren't many new ideas to try these days.

The thing is, though, that shos' comment disagree's with jell's comment.

Shos' comment implies that since people are using new idea's, it results in challenging caves
Jell's comment implies that since people are focusing on making their caves challenging, they tend to not focus on making new ideas

I completely disagree with shos' comment, and I partially agree with jell's.

Just because you're using a new idea, doesn't mean that that idea has to be difficult, but at the same time, just because they are making their caves difficult, doesn't mean that they're not introducing new traps and such. They're just making their traps too hard/complex

And also, the size of some of the recently released caves (200th) are ridiculously intimidating.

If you look closely enough, it is actually named CrampedQuarters for something.

quirvy, you really have to stop thinking this way. come on, try that cave - it's really not hard. not even close to be the usual timing ck used. he knew from the start that he has to make an easier cave.

the fact that you don't play caves - that really is disappointing; when people make caves they want others to play, comment and enjoy them. but you don't even try, cuz it's "too hard" - yet you haven't even tried to check if it really is. my bet is that you did not play yaya's new cave, my new cave, ck's new cave, kro's new cave, etc. if you only want TNT-level levels, then why are you here at all? if something is difficult, even just merely, it doesn't mean it's not original. i almost never produce ANY non-original traps in the last months. perhaps only as fillers. yaya's cave may show you some original ideas too, but hey, they ould be original only cuz nobody tried the caves that included them before. how do you want to keep the site up this way?

Shos, posts like that makes me proud that we chose you as a staff member.

Also, to add to that, Ck made that cave with both of you in mind - he said he wanted to please Quirvy with the easy traps, and Shos with the harder gems.
