All-Game Comp #5 - Collaborative Levels
This comp has already ended and has been judged.
Start Date: Tuesday, Mar 23, 2010
End Date: Sunday, Apr 25, 2010
Game: Content from any game is allowed

Competition Rules:
For this comp, you just have to team up with someone and make a level together. You can team up with whoever you want, and you don't even have to limit yourself to pairs, either. But to keep things competitive, no more than three people should work on one entry together.

If you don't know who to work with, you can simply post in the comments of this topic or PM each other. Once you're teamed up with someone, you can work on your levels however you want. For example, you may want to take turns adding different parts of the level, CaveMaking-Tennis style. Or you may decide to split the map, similar to CSD + SHOS = T3H PWN.

The comp is currently scheduled to end three Sundays from now, on April 11th.
Update: The competition has been extended for another week. Now it will end on the 18th.
Update: The comp has been extended again! Now it's ending on the 23rd, exactly one month after it began.
Update: Third extension! Three teams still have to finish (that's more teams than last week!), so the comp has been extended for two more days, set to end on Sunday night, which is when comps usually end, anyway.

Good luck and have fun.

RULES UPDATE: You can enter more than once, as long as the entries do not come from the same teams, and as long as you guys don't abuse this loophole.

Click here for the post that released these results.

Final Results:
2nd: Progression (HATPC) - Isa, Harumbai
3rd: Personalities (HATPC) - Ckjr, snowman
4th: Unification (HATPC) - soccerboy13542, jazz
1st: Jumble (HATPC) - Yaya, Harumbai
7th: Looption (HATPC) - Ckjr, Silver
5th: Perplexed (HATPC) - Ckjr, Isa
6th: Oscillations (HATPC) - Livio, shos

alright! so how do you want to make the cave? I'd like to try CaveMaking-Tennis style but we might not have enough time for that. Or we could just try that, and then if we don't have enough free time left, we could split what's left to be worked on individually.

I don't think the dimensions matter yet since we can always change that. You should start first since I'm working on Aeon right now.

imo, we divide the cave randomly to 9 parts, and randomly choose who does what, and also, randomly choose a spot for water level

if we do that, it'll just feel like a guild cave. Or we could divide the cave into 9 "general areas". Except they won't be explicitly divided by means of terrain or something. It'll be more like you fill up one area, then I continue with the next, and if you left any extra space in you section, then I could take advantage of that, and the limits are so strict either. And the resulting map would look better since it won't appear so obviously divided.

Oops... I'll edit that.
EDIT: Post edited. Now there is almost no evidence (except for Livio's quote and a few other things) that the =) was there.

You mean like that post you just made?

Could I ask if we could have longer than 2 weeks for this comp as the comps have been slightly rushed recently and especially if we want to send codes back and forth between people and end up with some really awesome caves. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks would be good? What do other people think?

Also provided someone else can test for me or the comp is extended so I can get testing on my laptop I hope to get, I don't mind working with anyone if they're interested.

But you are like 9 times better than me.

If you insist, why not we work on a cave, you choose the dimensions. I will make part and you will make part =)

Lol, I'm afraid to get a partner because I think I won't get it down in time and screw it up for both of us.

current teams:
Livio & shos
Teo and Ken

people looking for teammates:
Ckjr
Jazz
Harumbai (doesn't mind if he's asked to join someone)

Update: The comp has been extended to April 11th, so it's 3 weeks. This date is also very flexible, so if anyone needs more time, it can be extended further. Just don't be afraid to join if you don't think you'll finish in time.

advice on how to get a partner: ask people directly, don't just say you want a partner. Or else jell with pick for you.

Are you going to update that later? And I'd rather perfer someone around the same caving level as me (so it's more balanced)
EDIT: This is my 169th post!

no that list is as of Wednesday, March 24 2010, 7:23 pm EST. I don't feel like maintaining a list, but if I did I'd post it in the news post.

Caving style shouldn't be too big of a problem. I mean I teamed up with Shos, who makes crazy hard levels unintentionally.
