ShareThisOr, technically, you'll be signing up to take part in the IO; you won't be signing up for which team you'll be in. The way that it works is that the staff will assign you a team in order to keep the teams balanced based on skill and how active we think people will be during the course of the tournament. If you don't want to be in a team but you still want to join in some aspects of the IO, you're welcome to do that, but just know that teams make up some of the most fun aspects of the tournament and you'd be missing out.
So if you want to sign up, just post below.

To answer your unanswered question - yes it will. Don't worry about not contributing, I signed up last year and didn't do anything for my team...we still won  Too bad I got hanged for it  | |

I think it's a tradeoff. While I do see why it'd be called unfair, it will probably increase activity so much it'd be dumb to forego it, in my opinion. | |

Otherwise the minecraft idea wouldn't work. Lots of people have it anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard to balance the teams in that way. | |

I'm in. I won't be able to enter HatPC comps because I can't play custom levels. Whenever I load a userlevel, at the "Press jump to start" menu, it freezes. Oh well. Atleast we got a bunch of other games. | |
