Okay, so this week is two days late, for reasons I explained here.
There've been some requests to extend some of the rounds, and at first I didn't even consider them because well, this is the IO, and we don't hold extensions here. But then I just kinda figured, why not? Especially since for many of us, it's been hard finding the time to contribute to the IO. So here's what's gonna happen: I'm gonna extend a bunch of comps!
- The Minecraft Monument and Speedrun Video rounds were extended to next week on Friday the 29th. They were originally scheduled to end yesterday (Friday the 22nd).
- Now this leaves 5 rounds scheduled to end on the 29th, so I'm gonna extend the Team Collab and HATPC Portrait rounds for another week, so that they end on the last day of the IO, which is Sunday, August 7th.
- And to balance all this out, the only round starting this week will be this week's Pentathlon round.
It's extensions mania! To celebrate, I considered making this week's Pentathlon round something stupid like "Enter in the Extensions!" where you must enter something in either one of the 4 rounds that I had just extended.
This Week's New Rounds:
IO 2011 Pentathlon Round 4 - HATPC Gems
Duration: One Week: Sunday, July 24th --- Sunday, July 31st
Rules: This week's challenge is to take any one of HATPC's campaign levels, remove its current gem, and add your own clever gem to it. This means that you shouldn't change much about the level, unless it's to make room for your secret gem path. You can design your gems under the assumption that you had the same privileges as TNT that allow you to hide certain parts of the level from the preview image. You can find the original level codes for all the campaign levels by clicking here. Because this round started two days late, it will therefore end two days later than usual.
Other Rounds Running Through this Week:
See Week One, Week Two, and Week Three for more details on some of the following:
IO 2011 - Super Mania
One week left: Ends on Friday, July 29th
IO 2011 - Minecraft Monument
One week left: Ends on Friday, July 29th
IO 2011 - Speedrun Video
One week left: Ends on Friday, July 29th
IO 2011 - Team Collab
Two weeks left: Ends on Sunday, August 7th
IO 2011 - HATPC Portrait
Two weeks left: Ends on Sunday, August 7th
Rounds Ending Today:
(these rounds actually closed yesterday, on Friday the 22nd at 11:59pm EST)
IO 2011 Pentathlon Round 3 - Patriotism
Wow you guys sure were patriotic. Even though we only have 4 entries, there were at least 6 people involved due to the multiple collabs that were submitted.
The IO judges still haven't posted any kind of Medal Count updates. Well, this certainly is a disappointment.
Also, for the record, the judges aren't the ones who decide which rounds we hold. Generally the entire staff is supposed to help figure these things out, but it's mostly felt like it's just me and CSD, and most of it ends up being decided at the last minute by me, except for the few good ideas that we've been saving. He didn't include "An Okapi" in the 6, he counted these people:
1. Quirvy
2. Livio
3. Soccerboy
4. Yuggy
5. Yaya
6. Shos
I think you forgot that me and Livio were both involved in the making of the Great Lakes Monument.
Anyways while maybe it's a little disappointing that we only have one new entry, at least it's something that I feel like I might make an entry to.

Hey, just gonna warn yall that Levels 19 and 20 are uploader glitched, so you'll have to be tryhard if you wanna relocate the gem in them.

Are we allowed to give our Pentathlon #4 entries different names, or do they all have to be Level # (notification of relocated gem) like Soccerboy's?

lol, nobody is limiting you to the name. although it makes sense, cuz you ARE making a very small change remake of a level, and well, it would be wierd if you remade tutorial 5 and called it level 18.

Because this week was late, will next week be late too? Because I am going away next week and if it is late, might be able to submit a last minute entry... | | Livio |

As long as nothing unexpected happens again, I'm sure next week won't be late. However, because next week will be the last week of the IO, the rounds will end on Sunday, August 7th, rather than on Friday, August 5th. | | canadianstickdeath |

They're not too hard to unglitch, though (I think there's only one line that's glitched in each of them) so if you're hiding a gem in those levels, just make some simple edit to unglitch it. There used to be uploader-safe versions of these levels floating around, but I'm not really sure where they went to.
WAY LATE EDIT: And tutorial 4. | | Dekudude |
