Yaya left a clear path towards Harumbai during day 2 so he did a fine job on that part. I was sad to see that he didn't gather a stronger case though, which was very possible.
It is so hard to play as mafia, of course I can't guess anyone seriously when I know who the real mafia is. Also everyone is playing a really tight game so there is nothing to say about anyone.
I know that feeling. That was my problem when I was scum. Also...

Well, setting Shos aside for now, I'd say the game was a pretty nice success. I'll admit that I completely lucked out in who I investigated, and that the scum got names that I qualified for. Besides my investigations, there wasn't much else I did skillfully. I'm always hesitant to try and build a hard-pressing case against somebody because I might be wrong, and I'll have to go on the defensive whether I'm wrong or right- of course when I had near confirmed proof*, I still couldn't do it, lol. Though this game, I learned that I was pretty good at defending myself (that might've been because most of the time it was against Shos), so I gotta try better next time. If I was more forward and not so worrysome, I could've lynched Harumbai D2.
Thanks-a-million to Thomas making N2 fail, but would I of still been saved since I forced Harumbai to doctor me (which is kinda hilarious in itself)? It also would've been great if Thomas got the role of Thomas, I can imagine the skepticism. The inactivity was pretty bad this game despite being in the summer. There were times where I surfed the IG logged out to make it look like I wasn't avoiding the game, which I was avoiding because absolutely nothing was happening. I liked the premise of Quirvy's role. It sounded pretty cool.
I don't know what to chalk Shos's awful playing to. Maybe it is actually because he's always been lynched N1 and we've never seen him beyond that. Either way, it truly seems that Shos took his behavior on the regular Interguild, cranked it up to 11, and went with it. At times I wasn't doing much better for different reasons, but holy crap Shos. At least you tried to improve though.
As for the way the game was run itself, the U-pick concept was really cool, and the flavors were nice until they weren't. I've never run a mafia game so I can't say that much, but flavors at an extra layer of fun to the game. A mafia game without flavors is like plain oatmeal.
*The only real risk I took the entire game that I lied about being confirmed sanity. I figured it was worth the risk since my role already had enough limits, and I'm not exactly sure how the doctor role would've work if I was insane or guilty, lol. It also would've taken more time to confirm it, but I still would've been good. My plans if I needed to confirm was to investigate Thomas, hope he comes back town, and be like, "I'm a cop, but my sanity isn't confirmed. Harumbai came back mafia, Thomas came back town. Have fun". Which would've actually worked out. But the more I've thought about it, I'm pretty sure nobody would've questioned my sanity if I hadn't put in sanity confirmed. Harumbai was relatively scummy in everyone's minds already, and there's only been an insane cop in 1 game on the site (my apologies Isa for relying on past games as evidence. I always thought investigative immunity was a staple, lol).
COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.
Give me +karma. Give me +karma.
Are we going to get a post where you reveal all of the stuff like night actions and roles?
I'll say this: I didn't lose! I just didn't win...
While my role wasn't quite as hard to win as, as say a serial killer, I think my chances of winning were still pretty low. Unless I were to directly affect some of these lynches strategically so that there were less people left at the end, this game was literally impossible for me to win. Even if all of my choices were optimal, I think that the most I could have had at this point was 4/6 of the survivors. I guess maybe that's where you have to act in a way that extends the game (in terms of days, not general length), but I'd like to see you do that when the detective does what yaya did.
Regardless, it was fun to play as the neutral independent; naturally, I sided with town, because you need to act like town if you want to survive, and also because I just wanted the town to win. I had fun with my role.
BTW, Isa, my role was "Quirvy reply to my PM." I'm guessing you have that typed down somewhere, because your role PM said I was "Thomas reply to my PM", too. So anyone wanna guess what my Independent role was? I don't think it's too hard to figure out by now.

Roles:
Yuggy&Shavey Dave: (Disclaimer: This PM is a rough draft of your final role PM. You will get the same role as the one I'm giving you right now, but with potentially clearer wording and more/better flavor. Thanks for understanding.)
Welcome to the game, Shavey Dave!
You are a deadly watermelon, neighbor with Yuggy. You have the ability to communicate with Yuggy during any point of the game inside the QuickTopic link provided below. You must post all your neighborhood posts in all caps (i.e., not the posts in the official Mafia thread). Three strikes from this, that’s a modkill. You may start talking during pre-game.
Shos: You are the transition between the Old and the New Interguild. Takes a long time to start up and is secret at first. During day 1, is a tree-stump: Cannot be voted, cannot vote. During day 2, this effect is removed. Can each night secretly add a “new feature†to the New Interguild and their users. These features are “Level Galleriesâ€, “Karma Systemâ€, “Featured Gamesâ€, “News Postsâ€, “IceCaves Partnershipâ€, “Sarah Palin Adsâ€. Effect is unknown and not confirmed to be either positive or negative. Cannot give these abilities to self.
Mod note: All abilities are one-shot. Recipient is informed of the effect of the ability but not who gave it. Level Galleries = Jailkeeper. Karma System = Roleblock. Featured Games = Watcher. News Posts = Extra vote that can’t be moved. IceCaves Partnership = Vengeful. Sarah Palin Ads = Hated (requires 50% of the normally required votes to be lynched).
Quirvy: PM’s. Can send a PM each night to someone, including one during N0. This PM may not contain more than 200 letters. Every person who gets a PM gets the ability to send out one PM themselves to any other player, with the same restriction. Wins when all living players have received a PM at some point during the game.
Snipereborn: Recent posts and comments section. Shows what’s hot or not, and can update itself manually. Whenever someone targets you with a vote, gets a charge. When you have 11 charges, gives you the ability to choose one of the persons granting you a charge and push it off the Recent Posts and Comments section, killing them. Can only be done during the DAY. It also decreases your charge counter by 11. Each player can give multiple charges. Charges do not carry on between individual days. This ability can be used multiple times during the same day
Yaya: Purple Okapi. A rare beast that’s sacred among some and must be worshipped, and therefore recreated. Unfortunately the Okapi will try to enter multiple popularity contests, but has very poor looks and will therefore always place a distant last. However, that doesn’t mean that it didn’t try! During each night, you can target someone. If that person’s role name is either a game or a user on The Interguild, you may either investigate them to see if they are worthy of worshipping the Okapi (cop), or make them feel pity for your poor results, granting you their protection for the night (target person is given a one-Shot Doc ability and is forced to target you with it, target is not informed of this).
Jellsprout
THE RULES OF THE INTERGUILD. Can summon Will Smith once per night. You decide if Will Smith tells the story all about how his life got flipped, turned up-side-down when he had to move to Bel-Air. If he does, Smith will take someone of your choosing (except yourself) with him to Bel-Air for the night, where that person is safe from all night actions - however, s/he will also be unable to perform his regular duties for the night.
You can also choose to summon Denzel Washington once per night. Note that you cannot summon both though, as one of these is clearly leagues better than the other. Washington’s most successful role so far is from Training Day, where he is a corrupt manipulative cop chased by the Russian Mafia. Summon him, and you’ll be granted his investigative actions. However, being hunted by the Mafia has its price. Should you choose to use Washington’s powers, he’ll eventually be hunted down and be killed between night 2 and night 3, and because the Russians are hungry for blood, they’ll kill you during the fourth day.
Soccerboy13542
Zenda_kitty: Old Cavemaker that never stuck around, which is a shame. Made spontaneous comebacks that were shortlived but also made fun caves, usually centered around tombs and...caves. Once, during the day, you can disappear into one of your tombs. You will not be able to vote or be voted for the remainder of that day. If you do this, you cannot perform the factional Mafia kill during the following night. You can also twice put a monster in one of your tombs. This monster will target anyone who targets you during the night and will make sure that they’re silenced - during the next day, they may only post votes and unvotes, nothing more. http://www.quicktopic.com/47/H/4mMkYkJ3RTRPY
Thomas
Livio: Hosting the Interguild, the MineCraft server, lead developer of Aeon, brother of Haily. There’s many useful things about Livio. That doesn’t make him popular though, because he never shows up! When he does though, it’s celebration time.
Twice during the game, you can say, written in BOLD, “I have released a new Aeon Demo!†or “I’ve updated the way the site looks!â€. The former will cause everyone to be focused on playing, and means that during the next night, no passive abilities will go through, for example, a Bulletproof would be ignored. The second will distract people, and make the complete opposite true: During the next night, no active abilities will go through during the night. This includes the Mafia kill.
Rocket guy2/Jorster
Minecraft Server 3. Third time’s the charm in many cases, and this includes the Minecraft server, which even includes the previous two servers! During night 1 and 2, you may target a person. If that person uses any night action, you will keep it in store, and during night 3, you will be able to make use of the roles you absorbed during night 1 and night 2. You will not be informed of what you absorbed until night 3 has started.

Top Rated Videos. One of the worst designed pages on the Interguild, constantly being talked about in terms of needing improvement, yet neglected for several years by the only developer. Rumors talk about a lead developer “Livioâ€, but he doesn’t update you very often, and so, you don’t know him. You know that there is a role in this game called Livio, but you do not know who hides behind the alias.
Being a subject of poor coding does not bother you too much though as you still fill a function. Your favorite video is Snowflake of Doom WT, a true masterpiece. You can share copies of this snowflake to other players. The snowflake is cute, but can also be fatal. Instead of doing a regular nightly Mafia kill, you can choose to handle out a poisoned snowflake during the night. This snowflake will kill the recipient during the start of the following night. Their alignment will flip once the night is over. http://www.quicktopic.com/47/H/4mMkYkJ3RTRPY
Harumbai:
Seppukuties. The most gory game ever to be seen on the Interguild. However, it features a lot of death, and death is fun. Said death can be delivered the traditional way through bullets, but your big access to swords allows you to plow through anything that’d stand in your way. If you make the nightly factional kill, all actions taken to protect the target will fail. Instead of saying that the victim was shot when the day starts, s/he will have been “ripped apart by swordsâ€.
Your ability to summon willing minions is also a major plus. You can send these out on a suicide mission once per night, when you’re not performing the factional night kill. These minions will visit someone of your choice and steal any item they might be carrying. This will cause the victim much grief, and the target will require one less vote to lynch the following day. http://www.quicktopic.com/47/H/4mMkYkJ3RTRPY

Quirvy sends a message to Yuggy:
after reading yaya's post, and before reading the google docs doc, I still have to wonder why the hell everyone thinks I played bad. I had correct reads on all mafias; the only wrong part on my end was about jell, and that thing with thomas. I knew that post was supposed to mean something; if only he would admit it and say that it's part of his ability...
I think that the graveyard topic should explain what you did wrong pretty well. I haven't gotten through all of it, but Isa nailed why you lying about your role on day 1 was so bad.
I'm gonna break it down for you real quick why lying about your role is poor for town.
By stating that you were a permanent tree stump at first (lie #1), people automatically assumed you were town since it'd be a broken role if it was scum. However, you then claimed that you may or may not get better at day 3 (lie #2 - see, that's more than one lie), which seems like an after-construction. It drew needless attention to you as town, and you only want attention to be put on scum. There's very few persons in this game who has you as a town read because of these lies, and even though town is in a good position due to the Jazz lynch, they're in a poor position now because you are about to be lynched - and that is because you lied about your role.
Finally, absorbing the Night Kill would be POSITIVE, since you don't even know what your role does (unless you've connected the dots and realized that Jellsprout is Hated because of your night action!). You are way too absorbed with living through the game yourself, while disregarding the best for the town - which is if you'd die.
(...fun fact though - Mafia strongly considered killing you)
That's also disregarding your usual "I can scumhunt based on semantics!" manners which has a 0% success rate of catching Mafia
Moreover, I think Quirvy is overvaluing Snipereborn's scumminess. He opposed the scum lynch - but what did he have to gain from that as scum? He had been considered a valuable asset to town previously, sooo...Soccerboy seems like an accurate guess though.
I wasn't saying that sniper was scummy, just that I thought him most likely to be investigated. Soccer wasn't necessarily in 2nd place because at that point I thought he was scum, but just because he acted sort of cryptic Day 1, and one might be interested to find out what his role is. I'll admit that I did misjudge Harumbai completely in that PM, but I guess you're bound to misjudge some things when you've only played mafia once, about a year ago.
Quote:
Unvoting someone at L-1 is really Mafia 101, and I'm honestly sad to see that Quirvy sees this as a town tell.
Lol, well I've never taken mafia 101, so I don't really know things like that. Without having much mafia experience, if I was in Harumbai's position, I wouldn't have unvoted Jorster in that position. But then again, I doubt I'd make very good mafia, either. I was very happy to find out that I didn't get a mafia role in this game.

I was initially sad when it dawned upon me that I wasted my night action on someone that got NK'd, but eventually it dawned upon me how well placed that particular message was, and how it probably seemed related to your death. Sniper, if you ever read this, can you post the full PM that Isa sent you informing you of that message and your death? I'm just curious as to how it was presented.

I don't remember when you called Harumbai a squid on D1 or something but he made it pretty obvious it was him apart from the random capitalization of letters.
Lol, I tried my best to make my private messages in a way so that people wouldn't think that they were me, because I didn't want people to send me any messages. I guess it worked pretty well.
Overall, I think I did a good job at making my messages interesting.

I'll post a collection of my thoughts on everyone later
Isa, can we see the message that Jellsprout sent to Harumbai?
Oh so it turns out I was on my iPod and I skipped your post and Yaya's to see the google doc.
Also if I had to nominate somebody for MVP (that isn't me, lol) then I'd probably say jellsprout. I thought Yaya was scum... I guess he used his role well but I wouldn't say he played well during the days. I 100% agree on shos being the worst player in the game.

Just a question, can I host the next mafia game?
I don't mind but I have an idea.
Can you feel your heart burning?
Can you feel the struggle within?
The fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make, you cannot kill me in a way that matters
