Now to tally up the points. We got rid of last years super convoluted scheme and went by this simple score board: 3 points if you're first, 2 if you're second, and 1 if you're third.
IO 2011 Final Pentathlon Rankings
1st: TEAM Canadianstickdeath, Dekudude, GF4, Krotomo, & Yuggy (15 points)
2nd: The Great Lakes (12 points)
3rd: The Purple Okapis (4 points)
We then factored in the Pentathlon Rankings into the final rankings as if it were just another round.
IO 2011 FINAL TEAM RANKINGS
1st: TEAM Canadianstickdeath, Dekudude, GF4, Krotomo, & Yuggy (30 points)
2nd: The Great Lakes (28 points)
3rd: The Purple Okapis (13 points)
And now the individual rankings. These do not factor into the final team rankings.
IO 2011 Individual Player Rankings
1st: Quirvy (14 points)
2nd: soccerboy13542 (10 points)
3rd: Livio (10 points)
4th: shos (9 points)
5th: canadianstickdeath (8 points)
6th: Yuggy (7 points)
7th: Dekudude (6 points)
8th: Krotomo (4 points)
9th: Yaya (4 points)
10th: GF4 (3 points)
11th: Harumbai (2 points)
The Zeroes: They tried, but they didn't win any points:
DeathBunni X (0 points)
guyguyxtreme (0 points)
nebnebben (0 points)
The Dropouts: They did not contribute to their teams:
Bryan
Cedric_09_
We were considering splitting points between players who entered collab levels, but then we decided that it really wasn't fair, especially considering that these have no effect on team rankings. The reason I lost the tie breaker with soccerboy was because if we had split the points, he would've done better than me, so he deserves to be placed higher.

First off, no need to bash other levels. You're not giving out constructive criticism at this point, you're FLAMING others.
Quote: have you even looked at the other entries? the 2nd place winner was reaaaaally lame imo, especially knowing it's a third version of th level, so ugly to correct cheatabilities. no thought seems to have been invested in certain levels. did you even SEE #6? did you read any comments? what?? This is really rude. You're not only telling us judges we did a poor job, which I can take (although I didn't judge this particular comp), but here you are outright flaming other users. STOP IT.
Shos, the judge boards have been made public (as you've noticed) and this quote by Dando probably sums up your gem very well:
Quote: Shos' gem was just too hard; I gave up trying to reach the air in time and didn't feel compelled to try it with the water/terrain glitch.
It's a reoccurring theme. Your levels are always very hard and therefore not fun. You're a better player than us and disagree with us on what a hard trap is, and then complain. Yaya can, and has, confirmed to you.
Regarding the gem levels you FLAMED, which is what you did...
Krotomo had an interesting twist to his level. It might have been apparent what to do, but it seems like a FUN (keyword) gem to get. Backtracking is something most people enjoy, as long as you know what to backtrack, and in this level, it was quite easy to figure out.
Yaya's gem also had an interesting twist, but he was hindered by his choice of level, which I am pretty sure dragged him down in the end.
Dekudude had a poor gem. That's why he got second to last place. He got placed above you most probably because people were able to actually get the gem.
tl;dr - people weren't able to actually get your gem. At least Dando didn't, and if something's not approved by Dando, it usually isn't good. Also, flaming isn't constructive. | | shos |

the criticism for the levels was made in the levels' topics, not here. I'm just redirecting you there.
about the tl;dr, please read, at least the last post I made; and I dunno, "didn't feel complled to try it"? did you even read what I said? I stated very clearly that if you don't use any of the two gitches, the level is hard. if you actually CHOOSE to go for the hard version, don't complain about it being hard. it's like harumbai's shosmode..
and about the rest of the stuff you said, that's legit, you know, saying that kro's level was more enjoyable than mine. I accept that, but perhaps the way I look at entries is different; I'm looking for quality. fun is obviously something to be considered here, even a major 'something'. but hey, these are the original levels..to me, in terms of fun, this comp was 'who could be less bad' instead of 'who is better'. I'm not pointing at a specific entry(kro's is what you used) and claim, 'oh look i'm better', not at all - in fact I don't think so. and again, I do not want any rejudging, I just want explanations, any debate at all. as far as I know, that's a legit thing to ask for. I'm sorry if in any way I offended anyone, but you have to understand that seeing a level (kro's, for example, if we're already talking hehe) that was made in just a few minutes in thinking, "let's just stick a trap here and call it a gem", and even then, that standalone trap had to be fixed, well...it's no 'fun'.

Shos, about your Gem level. There were several key downsides to the level:
-The gem wasn't hidden at all. It was clearly visible the moment you started the level in a direct path that required no thinking at all. Even the worst gem locations TNT picked, such as Level 17, still required you to do some searching.
-The gem either required you to abuse glitches or was otherwise almost impossible to get. A gem where you have do almost frame perfect actions is not fun at all and a gem that only requires you to abuse one simple glitch isn't that fun either. Soccerboy's entry also required you to abuse a glitch, which was a definite downside to the level, but that was just one small thing in the entire chain of actions you had to do.
-It didn't really require you to play the level all that differently. All you had to do was wait a bit longer in the beginning and hurry a bit more. Compare this to Krotomo's level, where you actually had to do a chain of events outside of what is required to beat the level to get the gem.
So to summarize, your gem was not hidden, not fun to get and required no creativity on the player's side. That is why you got last place.

oh well, it's a shame I considered this to be better than the two other gems I made , which weren't so good too imo, but yes, I have to say I expected the timing here to be more appreciated. I still can't see, despite what you said, how my gem is worse than say, the second-to-last entry, the one with tut1.. perhaps I need to reset my criteria for 'good', lol..

First of all, I'd like to apologise to my team. I will not I've in and say I'm sorry about the Minecraft, but I will say I underestimated the amount of time I was busy. I went to three orchestral courses and went to two relatives and went on holiday once. That's seven weeks or busyness (...). My only level was done in emergency five minutes before I left to go to Dorset, and was just when I realised I shouldn't have signed up... Oh well....
Gratz to all those who participated properly. | | shos |

hey mate, no apology necessary remember we're all human, and we have real-lives outside this site, and if you were busy, or even if you just didn't feel like it, it's okay you know. This site still is about having fun, you know~ Cliche, (Isa fix spelling please) but true..

Actually it's all about Okapis. Fun just happens to be synonymous with that. No matter how small a role, me, you, Shos, Harumbai, DBX, and even Ced (maybe) should be honored to be on the team with the coolest name.

'Isa' said: Shos sorta deserves an honorary mention for participating in all competitions but one.
Also a note on the trophies. You don't automatically get a trophy for being in the top five positions. I figured that if you were 3rd but also last place then you probably don't deserve a trophy. Also for the ones with more entrants, say you were 5th out of six people, you also didn't get a trophy, b/c you still scored in a pretty low percentage. I know that's not how the normal comp trophies are given, but given the fact that this year only places 1-3 are worth getting, then we shouldn't be so generous when giving trophies either.
But what shos was talking about with not getting feedback from the judges also annoyed me. Maybe we should force judges to comment on all the levels they judge. Not only will this get rid of the feedback (or delayed feedback) problems, but it would also encourage the judges to put more thought behind their judging.
Also, someone from the winning team needs to extinguish the torch: | | jazz |

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada!
Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux.
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
