Can you explain this a little more? I mean, I already think Quirvy is mafia and voted him a few days ago but he just completely ignored my vote which was serious.

Because if someone who is scum only defends other scums, then it'd be incredibly easy to identify the Mafia every game, no? Just pressure everyone and wait for a reaction. If he attacks everyone but one person...well there you are. Just as a reference, when I was playing as Mafia here on the Interguild a year or so ago, I made sure NOT to defend my partners more than necessary, and I voted for them as well. Blending in is important.

I am acknowledging your posts, Thomas and FlashMarsh, but for now I'd like if you just wished to play along and vote Soccerboy. (Check his posts and see what content you can find in there in the meanwhile though.)

That's not the answer I was looking for. I asked why you aren't voting for him, not why my reasoning hasn't convinced you not to vote for him. What has Soccerboy done that's apparently towny enough for him not to earn your vote by now?

The reason I ignored your vote was because you didn't say anything worth addressing. If you're going to make a case then make a case, don't just sit around and act like people are going to blindly follow you (you too, Isa). I'm not playing like myself? How do you expect me to respond? "But Thomas, I am playing like myself"? You claimed that I wasn't acting like myself, but you didn't explain that at all. That's like me saying, "I think that Thomas is acting like scum" and expecting people to take me seriously. How am I not playing like myself? If you're not going to explain that at all, I'm not going to take you seriously (and therefore, I won't even bother responding to it), and neither should anyone else.

Furthermore, I'm 95% certain that someone (jellsprout, I think) commented that I was acting differently in the last game, where I was acting entirely with the purpose of finding scum (as a vanilla independent, I wanted to see the town win), so your claim that I'm acting differently neither comes as a surprise to me, nor does it particularly worry me much at all.

So rather than asking you how I'm not playing like myself, I'm curious; how do you expect that I would normally act in a game of mafia? And furthermore, how can you even validly establish that? This is my third mafia game in about 3 years. I may be the same person, but I can tell you that I've definitely changed a lot over the last 2 years.

One thing, however, that I will openly admit to regarding my playing style is that I do enjoy writing out angry posts, probably because I never really have an opportunity to act angry in real life, and even when I do I almost always force myself to play it cool. So if I seem to be angry to you and other players, that's why. You can also see this emanating in the last game, in my responses to most of shos' posts. I guess I just think it's fun lashing out at people.

Okay, this is something I definitely take issue with. It's not that I don't think you have merit to be suspicious of soccerboy, or even me for that matter, but with that said look at what you're doing: You come on here after being gone the entire game, and demand that everyone vote for the people you think are scum without presenting anything to convince them of that. Then when someone who is relatively to the new game confronts you, without providing any reasons for why they should vote for someone you ask them what reason they have to NOT vote for someone? Do I need a reason to not vote for someone? By your logic I should definitely be voting for more than half the people in this game right now.

Maybe it's just me, but you seem to have some sort of air of superiority surrounding you, and if I'm entirely honest I think you're acting like a douchebag thinking that you can just say "these guys are mafia" and expect everyone to blindly follow you. You remind me of shos from the last game, and that's definitely not a good thing.


As for my thoughts on soccerboy, nobody has really said much as of yet, but 2 things stick out to me about him:
1. We know that he had a followup PM to Jorster, and it might not really be fair to do this, but this means that there's a very good chance that he had a question about his role PM, which means that he probably got a role which wasn't very straightforward. Such a role could belong to both a mafia, or a town, but it still makes me suspicious
2. He hasn't really said anything useful. It seems as though he's been mostly making random comments, or adding in random thoughts to other posts(Ex: "I actually had some hot chocolate right before reading this... I wasn't sure what to think of it. However, now I want hot chocolate again..."). Of everyone here, I think he's the only one to not vote (atvelonis isn't here). I know that part of the game was led astray because of the "yimmy7=neezles?" discussion, which was a real issue at some point, but even aside from that it feels like in all of his posts he's made no attempts to get the ball rolling, content to just add random thoughts to make it look like he was being active. And in that respect, I'd say that he does seem pretty scummy.

But to be fair, this is pretty much what everyone has done:
Yimmy - a bunch of random votes that have been very clearly stated to be random votes
Thomas - a good observation followed by a "serious" vote without giving any reasoning
Atvelonis - nothing
Flashmarsh - made a few posts claiming that people are scumlords
Isa - waltzed in here at the last second and tried to get everyone to blindly follow him (but honestly whatever you do is irrelevant because of how good you are at the game)
Quirvy - a couple random votes, posts defending random votes as random votes

Basically, Thomas is the only person who has done anything to make himself seem remotely like town.

It's not a secret that I am decent at the game, but I believe that I can get valuable information out of being this short, concise and frustrating. It's not a permanent thing. Once I've gotten enough reactions, I'll drop my ball of information and post more analyses.
(The timing was unfortunate, by the way. It was not my intention to miss the first days of the game - Jorster gave no warning as to when the game would start.)

And yeah, you should have reasons for not voting a particular player, even if those reasons are as simple as "I'm already voting for X", "I think Y is scummier" or "I don't think he has done anything to warrant my vote". "I don't know" is about the only thing that doesn't cut it - that, and avoiding the question, which is what he did.
I also want Yimmy to put his vote to good use instead of being unused. Soccerboy should also vote on someone.

Regardless, have some town points, Quirvy.
