Actually it is. Many people do not have WE, so it's very unfair to them that along with WE, we get to have no leaf decay for us... for them, they would have to break every single block on a tree... I think that WE is enough for us. I think we can spend a few minutes placing down blocks.

I accidentally crashed the server by copying and pasting the TMG Tower. Damn this server is fragile.
At first I didn't think this was true, but I now realize how right you are... I just deleted 100,000 blocks. (This may seem like a lot but a minecraft server should be able to handle this easily.) off of the surface of an ocean, meaning that there would be no lightning changes, and the server crashed... I now agree that this server is too fragile...

Ok, how about we have people run for admin, and we vote for who we trust the most?

I think the admins just need to be more active. We also shouldn't have replacement admins, just new ones, so that all of the work isn't put onto just two people.

Two people could easily do the job fine, it's just that neither have a single clue what they're doing.

Livio has claimed he has fixed permissions multiple times. Even when Bmwsu was in charge and active in the early days, there were still problems. 'Too busy' = Fail. If you don't have time to admin, don't be one.

As I've said, I'm willing to step down as a moderator.

The issue is of course that Livio and Bmwsu has yet to reply to my post in our disclosed area.

Anyway, keep it civil please.

As I've said, if someone's going to replace the mods, we should vote to make sure we trust them.

We don't vote for moderators usually, but eh. Neutral on that.

I also think we should swap to here. The current server can't handle anything...

And Minecrafted is cheap and strong.

Ice melt should be on for Survival only, but leaf decay should be on for all worlds.

Running the Minecraft server is much more time consuming than all of you think. Remember that it took me three full days to get this current server up and running this summer, because installing and configuring all of these plugins can be a glitch-filled and painful process. My club recently started a minecraft server this semester, and even though we created an entire officer position for the management of the server, we still ended up taking it down last month just because of how difficult and how time consuming it was to maintain. Having said that, I've been pretty active lately, and I've been working on the server a lot lately. I've probably been more responsive to fixing server glitches these last couple of weeks than I have been all semester. And I'll be getting more active as winter break comes up.

Even though I usually like getting negative feedback and suggestions for how to make the server better, Flash's criticisms have always struck me as irrationally angry. Flash, you always get so worked up for the smallest of things. I understand you're frustrated with some of these problems, but some of your reactions are just plain out of proportion. For instance:

WHY THE HELL IS THERE LEAF DECAY ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer: because you're the first and only one who has ever asked for it to be turned off.

Given how much work and time it takes to keep this server running properly and how I've been helping you to transfer your personal creations to our community server, you've been acting extremely rude, Flash. Yes, there are a lot of problems with the current server, but this server is actually above average in terms of quality when it comes to minecraft servers in general. I wouldn't blame admin incompetency alone for many of the server's problems because they are simply much more complicated than that. Most of the problems on the server are usually a compromise between two worse outcomes, and many of the glitches are so mysterious and complicated that they just can't be figured out. And so we often choose to just deal with these glitches, or to settle at a not-as-bad alternative, because we realize that not every glitch is the end of the world (as Flash seems to believe) and that there are often more important glitches to be dedicating our time to.

I agree that the server needs an overhaul. Things got really messy (and glitchy) when we started adding and removing all of those plugins during the summer. I'll look into switching hosts, and maybe we can use that as an excuse to get things running off of a clean slate again. However, we might want to wait until our next billing cycle to do that, because we just paid Avante earlier this week for the upcoming month. In fact, I could probably start working on the new server next week, but still leave the current one up so that you guys can still play while the new one is getting configured, especially since it usually takes much longer than expected to get a new server running.

Hypothetically, what would happen if I built something in an empty spot in a city?
