------------------------------------------------ WHAT TO DO WHEN THE SERVER IS DOWN ------------------------------------------------
So, as most of you probably well know, Thomas very rarely dies on the server, and tries pretty hard to make sure he doesn't die. So when he does, it's a big deal.
I was working on the mob dungeon below the Hotel, and I just finished a room with a hole in the middle that goes down like 30 blocks, and then has lava at the bottom. I jokingly dared Thomas to jump in. Thomas, not wanting to back down, and probably wanting to show off his awesome minecraft skills, accepted my challenge, drank himself a fire protection potion, and hopped in.
Obviously, I would not be posting about this here if he survived.
Spoiler:
Seeing him actually do that was probably the funniest thing I've witnessed on the server.

Why is the dynmap still not up? It's really annoying having it down because, for example if you want to start a new project, without it you have to spend half an hour of your time looking for a good place. Also, I thought that we switched to a new host because of the dynmap. So now that we have a new host, why is the map still down?
See the discussion on the first page of this thread, it was said a few times. The new host also works better without the dynamic map, so we prefer better game play over just good game play and additionally not having the dynamic map at the survival world makes the game play much better.

Just went on the server for a few minutes to post a level, then it suddenly crashed by "remote host" or something, are you admins doing secret admin stuff again?
EDIT: Nevermind, it's back up now.

Is that all connected, or is the part under and to the right of the black sheep an optical illusion? Some amazing physics right there if it's all connected.
COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.

IDK if we changed build recently or something like that, but now maps have gotten worse in regards to showing your position. Before it would be that occasionally, if too many people had been using copies of the same map, the little arrow thing showing where you are on the map would appear under the map, and you would only see it off the border of the map (so like, if you weren't in the map region, you could see where you are relative to the map region by putting you off the border). But now it won't even do that. My little location indicator doesn't even show. I'm trying to finish mapping some of the corner regions, so it would be nice if we could find a solution to these problems with the maps. Maybe there's a plugin or something for maps on multiplayer?

It does that too sometimes on Different. I was trying to map an area and half the time the indicator didn't even show up which made it significantly harder. No clue what's causing it though.

A while back I looked into plugins to see if there was a fix, and there wasn't, unfortunately. I've also checked the Bukkit bug tracker, and there seems to be no mention of bugs with maps. I just checked both again today, and there still doesn't seem to be a fix. So, unfortunately, it appears that until it gets fixed, wherever the bug it from, or someone with Java knowledge pinpoints the bug and makes a plugin for us, I'm sorry to say that it seems to be here to stay.
So a couple days ago I stumbled upon a desert village, which apparently nowadays is pretty rare since that's the first one I've found in 1.7, so I decided to settle it and I'm making pretty good progress, but when I was making the nether portal I discovered that like 200 blocks away in the same desert is the sand mine. Did the person who designated the sand mine location not actually check the desert that he was designating to be mined?
Well, it's not that big of a deal (yet), because honestly I went by the sand mine at some point before and just thought, "hm, that's a strange natural formation", so it's not a terrible looking eyesore (yet). But perhaps we should:
a. Not mine in the direction of the village
b. Just find a new desert to mine in; one that has nothing in it
When I chose the sand mine, I didn't check the entire desert, no, I will admit. I did pick the mine, however, to be there because it is behind a mountain in the desert, so my intention was to attempt to hide it a little.
We can move it no problem, and I see no reason not to, provided that we can find another desert.
Lets just pick a small desert somewhere on what we have mapped, and then mine it mercilessly.
So I just had a pretty insane streak of fishing (still technically ongoing, but I've chosen to cease fishing for now). I used the ender farm to get me a really nice enchanted fishing rod, and then went fishing while I was waiting for something to smelt. This everything that the fishing rod has gotten me so far, with nothing omitted:
5 saddles
1 nametag
1 pufferfish
2 raw fish
2 enchanted books ("Power III/Sharpness III" and "Respiration II"
1 lilypad (note: These are grouped with treasure in the game)
1 enchanted bow (Power IV + Infinity I)
1 enchanted fishing rod (Unbreaking III + Lure II + Luck of the Sea II)
If you're wondering why the server's been a little slow and why it's been having connectivity issues, it's because our hosting provider has been performing maintenance during the past week.
So this isn't too big of a problem, but there are absolutely no wolves on the interserver. I pointed this out to Thomas a while back, but nothing ever came of it. Perhaps this is a bug in the build we're using, or a plugin or something? I remember there used to be a bug where if we bred tamed wolves, the child wolf would disappear after a while.
At the very least, we could randomly spawn 50 or so throughout the map, for people to tame.

I just spent at least an hour getting a horse and getting it to my house. In the river right next to Jorster's house, it drowned for no reason.
Would it be allowed for someone to spawn me a horse near my house? Because I would love to have wasted an hour of work just because of some stupid bug.
