The HorseTP plugin was also responsible for teleporting using /to

By deleting it, /to no longer works in creative.

The lake next to Spawn City is pretty. It would be nicer if the entrance to the Shaft of Riches was moved out of the center of the lake.

Can I have permission to move it 30-ish blocks away outside of the lake?

EDIT: No opposition, that's a yes to me.

Pixel Art Park is quite bland. I like the pixel art, but the flat expanse of stone isn't pleasant to look at.
Can I have permission to change the stone to grass, and make the obviously WorldEdited hills at the borders of it a little more natural-looking?

I agree that PAP's stone floor looks hideous, but I don't think grass would look much better.

I like seeing people cleaning up the Spawn City area. What if we made Pixel Art Park look more like a park? With grass, hills, winding paths, lights, and maybe an occasional pond or stream.

Could we perhaps make it smaller too? It stretches a little too far north, if you ask me. The entire top section should be gotten rid of, and the pixel art that was there should be moved elsewhere.

Do you see the road going east-west, with trees and grass along it? (About halfway up the map) Pixel Art Park's northern border should be somewhere around that road. Do you see that forested area to the west? That's where the displaced pixel art should go.

EDIT: Pixel Art Park should probably also stretch a little bit, and I stress that; a little bit, past what we can see on the map. Not too far west though.

maybe we could just rename PAP to Pixel Art City.

I too was kinda annoyed by how much real estate PAP has been claiming recently. We could try moving works a little closer together, but not too close, or it'll be a paint o explore. I also feel like making the area grassier will help keep it from being such an eyesore.

I think maybe it could be double steps with little grass areas with trees and/or ponds in them.

Edit:  Or maybe grass with roads going through it.  Also, I think it would be cool if pixel art would be on pedestals.

The point is to make Pixel Art Park look like an actual park, so duh we would need to use grass. We definitely shouldn't use standard roads for it, they're too wide for a park. Gravel paths would probably look better.

Yeah, that would be sorta cool I guess, but some of the creations are really large. Not sure how that would work with the bigger ones.

Server's been going down a lot for some reason. I got time to look into it today, and it's really unclear as to what's causing it. I'm basically going to keep tweaking some of the settings every time the server crashes now.

It's mainly an out of memory issue. Sometimes it's java that runs out of memory, other times, it's the server itself. I'll probably contact support if none of my tweaks work.

Nevermind, I installed a script that would detect when the server is down, and automatically boots it back up.

Something kinda weird about the server crashes is that it gets rid of all the blocks we place, maps we make, replaces the blocks we destroy, etc. after it comes back up, but it keeps all the signs we place. Makes 0 sense.

EDIT: Crashes every 10-20 minutes. Tough to do stuff.
EDIT II: The longest time that it's been up that I've seen was 30 minutes.

Livio coded the script to restart the server in Java, so I can't really do much about it, so I'll talk to him.  Hopefully we can get it sorted.

This should go without saying, but if the server is crashing as often as atvelonis says, the problem shouldn't be fixing the restart script, it should be fixing whatever is crashing the server in the first place (unless that is the restart script).

The restart script is a brilliant idea. It's good to be able to restart the server when nobody is around to do it manually. But its existence doesn't mean that it's okay to ignore server crashes.

But I've been playing for a while and the server hasn't crashed, so I feel like whatever issue there was, was probably addressed but not mentioned here?

Anyways, I hadn't logged in in abut a month (the last time I tried to, the server was down), but my best horse, Reno, appears to be missing. I was in Chasm, previously working on building a path to Fallon. He wasn't in either village, nor Arco or Temple. I checked back west near spawn just in case I for some reason brought him way over there, but I didn't find him at the Market, Spawn (in fact, all horses from spawn appear to be gone now) or the Hotel, so IDK where he could be. Any chance we can check the horse tracker thing Thomas made for any events related to my horse? I wouldn't think so, but maybe someone took him or he died in some freak accident while I was away?

Yes it actually crashed all those times I said it crashed.

It's been somewhat more stable very recently (no clue why, maybe admins did something and didn't say anything...?) but it will still crash occasionally. It now tends to stay up for a lot longer than before, which is nice. And now it doesn't get rid of a ton of my progress when it crashes.

Also, does anyone know what the "connection throttled" screen means? I sometimes get it when I try to reconnect to the server after it crashes.

I have no idea what "connection throttled" means, but it's not exclusive to our server, at least for me.  I've gotten it on other serves before..

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but is it still worth buying Minecraft? No, don't run away! I've meant to do it several times, I just get distracted by shinier fruit. I know the server isn't what it used to be in terms of activity, but is there still enough to justify joining? I used to think I was missing out on a large part of the site's activity by not playing MC, but now I'm not so sure? At this point I don't want to waste $25 to find out no one really uses it anymore.

Well there's a few things to consider. Lets start out with the bad.

I'm under the impression that the server has been a bit mismanaged the past month or so, specifically in regards to it going down a lot and not necessarily coming back up in a timely manner. Server activity started to decline a while ago, so that probably hurt it even more as the people who didn't go onto the IG but occasionally checked in on the server (ex: Jazz) may no longer bother checking in on our server. The departures of Thomas, Jorster and Darvince maybe took away about 1/4 of server activity. Maybe more, I'm not really sure how you measure that. Either way it was a big blow and the server hasn't really been the same since. So in all likelyhood, you probably missed the peak of our MC Server (which was the week after the Survival reset, IMO)

But with that said, MC itself is a good game. I've played singleplayer a decent amount, and I'm pretty sure other users have spent time on other servers, so even if our server goes downhill it's not like you just lost $25. Additionally MC makes frequent free updates to the game (although it's almost been a year since their last one), so even if you get bored of it you're likely to come back later to see what the game is like with the new changes.

And more towards our server, you don't really need too many people to be online to have fun. Often, I play alone or with others on but with them not near me in the world (but often communicating through MC's chat). Playing with other users is fun, and I find that usually you only directly play with a few at a time, even at peak, so you don't actually need too much activity to do that, either.

Although things on the server don't look too thrilling right now, new activity may cause a chain reaction. If you and I come on frequently, then soccerboy and others who haven't been as active because of the inactivity are more likely to come back and play. Not sure how much activity we'll see from Bmwsu, Teo, Livio, Isa and others, though.

My recommendation: If you have the money to, go for it. The server isn't what it used to be, but fun can still be had on it. And besides that, it's not like you're limited to playing on the IG server.

Yeah, Minecraft is worth buying. It's a fun game and having a new player on the server would be cool!

I expect that they're going to update the game before the year ends. That means more new blocks and enemies and things to do, which will probably end the inactivity that's been happening lately. I've been playing Minecraft since 2011 when it was in Beta, and I still enjoy it. I personally love building things and to me finishing a project is immensely satisfying, especially if it's a big one. If you buy the game and don't really like it, it's not the end of the world. Even if it doesn't seem super interesting I would give it a shot anyway. I liked Minecraft from the instant I started playing it, and if you end up buying it I hope you have as much fun with it as I did.

EDIT: Also I am a little reluctant to post a lot of levels because you guys kinda suck at rating them. The next time I post a level can you say exactly what you think? Don't take off or add points just because of the way you think other people will think of your thinking. Look at it this way; start with a 10 when you look at a level, then take off reasonable amounts of points for things you don't like. (e.g. I think the house should be a different kind of wood, -1)

Actually, when we update them isn't up to us.  It's up to the plugin developers, most of whom do this as a hobby or a side project.  Mojang itself said that the 1.8 update is from the product of over 300 days of coding, and the crazy amount of things that have been changed, especially on the behind-the-scenes of things, is quite a lot.  A lot of effort goes into updating, which is why things like modpacks are constantly at a version behind current release.
