I swore the Interguild had some topic dedicated to laptops, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Oh well.

I just got a Hp Envy 15z-j000 Notebook PC as a graduation present. Is that good by whatever laptop standards you guys have? If it isn't, please be gentle so I don't get too cynical about it. And expect the occasional typo with this newfangled keyboard. And it takes me like twice as long to type everything on here for some reason. It's actually really frusturating.

Anyways, Windows 8 makes me want to find a concrete wall and slowly grind my face against it. Thank goodness there's an actual desktop beyond the piece of **** start menu. I may come to like it as I use it more, but I doubt it. Hooray for Google Chrome.

There are some programs to install a start menu on windows 8. The only one I remember is Start 8, but I think it costs $5.

Ugh, it doesn't come with a disc drive. There goes half the reason I wanted a laptop. Off to buy an external one I guess.

[By clicking the "report this message" in your pm's, it sends the message you were sent to the interguild staff, where they then process it, by writing a message explaining what's going on, and then warning either the author, or the accuser(for false reporting), or they can just ignore and delete the report all together. A while back, I noticed that if you refreshed on the page after you warn the author or accuser, it will send out another warning to them. So, by F5 + enter(some confirmation message pops up), I am able to spam anyones inbox, with a lot of interguild warning pm's(which don't actually do anything)]
