I would love to stand in line for 4 hours to get a vaccine for a flu like the regular flu.

I'd rather get the swine flu than the vaccine against it.

The vaccine has a 1 in 10 chance of giving you the flu, from what I've heard.

The vaccine is the flu. Just in very small quantaties, to give your body the chance to build a defence against it. But you won't get sick from it.
It's just that the vaccine is pointless. The swine flu isn't harmful at all. If you are strong enough to survive the regular flu, you are strong enough to survive the swine flu. Several of my friends have had the swine flu and they all say it wasn't a big deal. Vaccination is just a waste of money, especially in times like these.

Well, the biggest reason to be vaccinated is so that the disease can stop spreading it around. It's not like what's circulating is totally harmless. People do get terribly sick in the same way that you can get terribly sick from the regular flu, and then there's also that 1% of the population that can actually be killed by swine flu for no apparent reason. But if you're in the population who just goes through something similar to the regular flu, then you really would be better off getting vaccinated so that you wouldn't have to deal with it if you really do get sick and save yourself a lot of time and tissues.

I'm the only one in my family that got the vaccine and probably am the only one who will. This is because I'm suffering from chronic asthma, making me an easy target for the flu.

I got no side effects either.

The schools in my area are giving free swine flu vaccines. However, they are yet to get the paperwork to us, so it is sort of unknown if my school will give the vaccines before they are wide spread.

oo, good luck jell! i found electricity and magnetism a very hard course last year >_< i did somehow manage to get through it though...

which calculus is that you're doing? in israel it's divided to three parts - 1, 2, and advanced. i'm done with 1 and 2, now in the middle of advanced; it's not hard.

what keeps me from being here as usually is the Computerized Physics laboratory. it's an amazingly difficuly course, in which you do throughout the semester 12 experiments on subjects that(most of them) you didn't learn. you have a short quiz on the start of every lab about the experiment you're about to do, then you do it, and then you give a report. this week i'm doing the Photoelectric effect lab, and i don't seem to understand sh!t out of it. gonna keep trying thou.

I  made some practice exam from the internet and I understood everything.

Calculus is divided in 3 parts this year. Part 1 includes vectors, implicit differentation, partial integration, integration through substitution, linear differential equations of the first and second order and complex numbers. I might be forgetting something, but it isn't difficult.

oh, well your first part is harder than my first part. i can hardly recall what our first part includes - i remember the whole subject of limits, differentiations, and...well more stuff, i don't remember xD

our second parts is the whole thing about integrals; intergability by Riemann and Darboux; and some of the thigs with functions with x and y (differentiation[diffenetiability], max and min points in space, etc), and a few more things that i don't remember. the third part is...well...as far as i know, we're learning everything you know, just with n dimensions. differentiability in n dimensions, and stuff like that.

today i'm sick, sadly - and i missed FIVE HOURS of this course - 3 lectures and 2 practice lessons. dunno how i'm gonna keep up now >_>

For my Calculus exam we have 4 papers Differentiation, Integration, Complex and real numbers and Conic sections. I will be busy doing that in about two weeks.

It seems that if you enjoy HatPC level creation, you're skilled at math. Someone could easily make a study based on us.

If you are a geek, you are good at math. If you are a geek, you will like video games. If you like video games, you will like level makers.

Not true per default. Being a geek is, to me, being obsessed with one or very few particular things, not necessarily math.

If that would be the case, where are all girl gamers?

If I enjoy games such as CounterStrike, Unreal Tournament, Crysis, Bioshock and so on, does that mean I'll enjoy creating a level for games like N, Knytt Stories and Line Rider?

Especially by Interguild standards.

We need to get more people my age on the site so I won't feel so weirdly out of place. But HatPC-playing people in their mid-twenties are probably few and far between...

I have a Data Structures midterm tomorrow. It's probably not hard (at least, compared to other courses I've taken from Kazer; the guy gives hard tests so that he can justify all the scaling he always ends up doing), but I don't know how to do some of it.

Dando, you're still getting older? Aren't you old enough already? *runs and hides*

Don't make me get out the rolling pin.

Anyway, I hate math but still love HatPC. I'm not as much of a gaming geek as I used to be though, so if I were to come across this site now, I probably wouldn't want anything to do with it.

I dunno, if somebody did do a study on us, it'd certainly be interesting, but I don't think there'd be any real conclusions. Maybe it's just a coincidence that we have more than a few programmers and math-enthusiasts among us.

And it isn't creepy to remember someone's birthday, Livio. It's nice.
