I pretty much gave up hope on our government doing anything intelligent. I'm gonna vote for Romney, just because I'm not entirely sure how one could do a worse job than Obama, but I'm sure that I can be surprised.
@Flash I'm not sure what you mean by "suck up to Israel". So what, we aren't allowed to be nice to our friends and cooperate?
'FlashMarsh' said:
Shos. That first bit made me sad because it was not intelligent.
Also he said that Obama 'didn't recognise our shared anglo-saxon heritage'. It doesn't take a genius to see the implied racism there.

And neither of those is true. You are ok with celebrities getting VIP treatment, but someone who might become the leader of the most powerful nation on earth doesn't do it for you?
The second part, Anglo-Saxon isn't a race. It doesn't take a genius to see when someone is making crap up.

@gay marriage
Because, you know, so much progress has been made from Obama's administration.
@past presidents
Yes, because, you know, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Lyndon Johnson, and JFK were all fine men and wonderful presidents.

What exactly did Obama do that made him screw everything up? IMO most of it came from George W. Bush.

Also, Obama has done a bunch for Gay Marriage.

I mean seriously! Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed by Obama, he said Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional, he announced his support for gay marriage - can you look me in the eye and tell me that this did nothing for the LGBT community in America?

@ 1. Nothing. He did absolutely nothing, and that's the problem. Instead of fixing the problems that are his job to fix, he spent all his time passing and defending a single, crappy healthcare bill that no one cared about in the first place.
Let's see, oh, when's the last time a budget was passed? Oh, did you hear about the US credit rating getting downgraded, and how Obama didn't do anything before or after about it? Oh, did you hear how he's been in office for an entire term and is still saying that the economy is Bush's fault? Did you hear how it's not actually Bush's fault because the policies that caused it were enacted when Clinton was president? Did you hear about how Egypt is now going to be run by Islamists who hate the west and Israel? And how we spent all that money helping Libyan rebels who now like to chant "death to america" as their national pass time? Or how Syria is doing much worse things to their people, and we don't seem to care about that? Or how Iran is trying to nuke Israel, but we think that telling them how disappointed in them we are is going to make them stop? Or how Obama didn't allow us to build an oil pipeline through an area that already had oil pipelines because he was worried about the environmental impact, which studies he had available said didn't exist?
Or how when bad things carry over from the past, it's Bush's fault, but when good things carry over from the past, it's all his doing? Like how "he" killed Osama Bin Laden? And ended the war in Iraq?
How about how, instead of listening to his commanders on the ground and bringing more troops into Afghanistan, he decided that we should just give up and run home, even though we would have then wasted billions upon billions of dollars and thousands of lives for no reason other than to kill one man?
How about the way that minorities are way, way worse off than before, and are way more dependent on government welfare? How about the fact that he hasn't done anything for gay marriage at all, but people seem to think that saying you support it is the same as doing something about it?

I'm sure I could keep going on "what exactly Obama did", but I think you get the general flavor of it. I can't think of any areas we are better off in because of him. Europeans seem to like him more, but I doubt that translates into liking us more, or anything that could be remotely useful.

Yes, I can. Look at what you just said. "He says this, he announces that". Great. What has he done? Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell? What does that translate into? Less than one percent of our population serves in the armed forces. Now, instead of not caring about whether or not someone is gay, they have to ask the soldiers and put it in the records. Because, you know, that will definitely not harm them at all.

Don't ask don't tell was:
The policy prohibited military personnel from discriminating against or harassing closeted homosexual or bisexual service members or applicants, while barring openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual persons from military service.

Which is prejudice.

It translates into making it perfectly fine to be homosexual in the military rather than it being something that you should hide. Feel free to tell me the advantages of being forced to hide your sexuality.

DADT was all about caring about whether someone was gay or not - that's why homosexuals got thrown out of the military for being gay.

Why would it harm gay soldiers to say that they're gay soldiers? Because of American homophobia, or...? I'm pretty sure that people trying to kill American soldiers overseas won't care much about their sexuality.

I am noting that you're saying that the President doesn't influence the country he leads by speaking. Are you saying that goes for other issues and other presidents too?
Also, you'd be shocked to learn that African-Americans - one of the groups who have been the most against gay marriage - have now changed their stance since Obama "announced that": A majority of blacks now support gay marriage rather than opposing it. With the ridiculous system multiple states have (voting for civil rights!?), public support for an issue like this does translate into doing something.

Again, feel free tell me what Mitt Romney has done or promised to do that's good for LGBT people.

yeah.

I really don't know what your press tells you about all those things, but if you follow our press, or the arab press, then yeah, you will believe these things. I did not participate in discussion about america cuz I don't know anything about that, but here I can talk, lol.

about Egypt - yes, that is true. They have, so far, not cancelled the peace with israel, but they officially declared that they 'will rexamine' that. before Mubarak went down, the passwords were 'death to mubarak, death to israel'. yeah, I have no idea why we always get into their minds. but hey, it's not only there-

about Syria - we are seriously close to opening a war in the north there. the reason being that Chemical weapons might be transferred to Hizballah, and we cannot allow that to happen. Hizballa sends dozens of rockets at us on a daily basis(yesterday it was 7, just fyi) and if they get any chemical weaps, it's gonna be a nuke ending them, and nobody wants that. what's going on in Syria is that Assad uses the military to 'enforce order' in his country; more or less 250 on average die there every day. this week they even reached a new peak - they started bombing civilians with planes(earlier it was only artillery and tanks, lol). there too, the slogan is 'death to assad, death to the zionists'. this was on the arab TV on live news, lol, where it was supported. any more credibility I can't supply~

about Iran - practically every news site reports about that, do you really not believe that? O_o

You can't deny what has been captured by multiple cameras from multiple networks.
Here's the Huffington Post on Lybia.
Here's the LA Times on Egypt.
Here's Obama on Iran.
And Fox is much better than the other networks. I've yet to see CNN or MSNBC say anything negative about Obama. At least Fox gives him credit when he manages to do something well.

How can you possibly believe that Iran is trying to nuke Israel when Iran has no nukes. 0.

And Sniper, I have never heard anything good come out of Fox... They bring out former generals who are supporting wars, and now work for defence contractors... Who will the wars benefit? Defence contractors!

Also, Anglo-Saxon is kind of race - Two different barbarian tribes... Just because they aren't recognised now doesn't mean they aren't a race.

He's not politically visiting in any official sense. He's there on his own for his own reasons. Why he thinks that Britain is important in US politics, I can't say.

Iran has officially said that they want to destroy Israel in so many occasions, lol. they've been trying to build a nuke for likw two years(possibly less/more). they have been officially cut out economically for months now because of that. you're not following the news on Iran, are you? :/

it's not that Iran is 'trying to nuke israel'.
think about it more like a 'I am going to go buy a gun and shoot you' threat.

I hate both. Romney is one complete and utter douchebag. He's a corporate flip-flopping robot who hides his money in the Cayman Islands and retirement fund accounts. Obama is too scared to do anything, and has completely and utterly failed to deliver on his promise of change. I would vote for Obama because I hate Romney as a person ad I think that Romney will damage the economy far more than Obama.

And of course Iran says that stuff, but you were implying that Iran was going to launch a missile at Jerusalem any second now. Also, I see no evidence that the nuke will be ready soon, even within a decade. And even though Iran's rulers are unstable, I don't see them being quite stupid enough to be completely obliterated by US and Israeli nukes

Anglo-saxon isn't a race! Are you kidding me? That's like saying "mexican" is a race. Now, people from those heritages tend to be of the same race, but you can make similar arguments about most countries.
Last I knew, there were 7 official races and then mixings thereof. I don't know that I can name them all, or if that's still the case, but I'm really sick of people saying everything someone they disagree with says is racist. I can disagree with Obama and not hate him because of his race. I'm glad we have some diversity in our leadership finally, but being black doesn't make him automatically right about everything and immune to scrutiny. That's just racist.

Ninja'd
Of course Iran doesn't have nukes yet. Israel would beat the living donkey fluff out of them if Iran came close enough. America would probably help, but you just don't know these days.
Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has repeatedly threatened to destroy Israel. Also, Iran believes that the end of the world is near, and wants to get "peaceful nuclear power". Sure. Because, you know, you need to make refined weapons grade uranium to make a nuclear power reactor.

Ninja'd again
I wasn't implying that. I said "Iran wants to nuke Israel". That statement is true. But the more worrying thing is that, instead of launching missiles that we can shoot out of the sky, they would instead pass the weapons to suicide bombers and other terrorists, since they are already doing that with non-nuclear weapons.
Also, see that "Iran believes..." if you really don't think that Ahmadinejad is psycho. Or, you could just read his wikipedia page.
