If somehow you managed to have the same situation with Obama just being white, then yes I do. The problem is that it's hard to find many white kenyan women. But maybe that's not the point of your argument? Lets say instead of kenya, we're talking about a french woman. Then yes, the exact same thing would happen for the exact same reason. Is there some racism involved in the way Fox News (who I assume are the ones you mean by 'they' treats Obama? Probably. But, anyone who has watched Avenue Q knows that everyone is a little bit racist sometimes. Welcome to being human. Why are big black guys scarier than big white guys, no matter what your race is? Who knows? I could conjecture, but I doubt it has a simple explanation.

@sniper one page ago- I, personally think that most people think mexican is a race. If most people think it is an ethnicity the "mexican" racist jokes wouldn't be racist, they'd be "ethnicicist"

Lybia and Egypt have just come out of a civil war. The last thing they want right now is a new war. They also realize it is in their best interests to keep peace with the West. As for Israel, you guys aren't exactly friendly towards the Islamic nations either. I understand that in the inevitable war, the Egyptians would rather side with their Muslim brethren.
And there are anti-Americans everywhere, even here in the Netherlands. It is probably worse in the Arab countries, considering the US had been providing the dictators with its weapons for all those years. However, the larger part of the population and more importantly the policians are in favor of cooperation with the West.
The US (and France, the UK, Germany and pretty much every other major power except for Russia and China) want to help Syria. They have been pushing for it since the revolution began. The only problem is that you can't just invade a different country. It first has to get approved, I think by the UN Security Council. But any resolution to action gets blocked by Russia and China, because they believe it is not in our rights to meddle in foreign political affairs.
Iran has no nukes. It is currently more likely that Israel will nuke Iran than the other way around. You say that Iran keeps threatening Israel (actually it is mostly Ahmadinejad, a guy who holds no power of note inside Iran), but Israel doesn't hesitate to threaten back. The only difference is that Israel holds true to their threats. Like a few months ago, I think it was March, when the first army official of Israel declared they would take new and more extreme measures against Iran. One week later an Iranian scientists gets assassinated in his car by a highly advanced bomb.
And about the US doing nothing more than giving Iran a stern look? Yesterday it got leaked out that the US has a plan to invade Iran. Romney has also said that he is willing to support Israel invade Iran. Because they obviously have nukes. Just like Iraq.

jell, you are being a little too naive about the concepts I think. many people who just watch this from aside are~

about the first two sentences you said, you are completely wrong; it is sort of their heritage to fight us, you know. egypt has been in very good terms with us for over 30 years now; they really have no reason to have this changed. politics were never of interest to the arabs near us(at least the most, of course). I'll give you an example - you guys must have heard about Molten Lead - the miniwar Israel started in order to bring back the kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit? well then here are news for you - they were launching missiles at israel before the war, during the war, and after the war. they really don't care. mayyyyybe politically officially they won't start a war, but re-examining the peace with Israel is a bad start.
anyway - why do you say we're not friendly towards the islamic nations? Israel is very open minded in its politics with them. Jordan, turkey, and egypt were visitied by dozens of thousands of israelis just two years ago, you know. I myself visited all three of those, lol. Jordan is the only 'good' place left now, and it's not because of *us*. for an israeli just walking in egypt or turkey is dangerous. for an arab (if he is able to get to israel) that is not the same.
about Iran - I don't know if you know how a nuke works and how a nuclear reactor works and what the difference is - but in short: for a bomb you need 95%-238 at LEAST. for a reactor you need 4%-5%-238 MAXIMUM. Iran has 20%-238. there really is no reason to get there if you're not building a nuke.
The problem is that 20% is what was published by the official european examiners(before some got hit/killed or something and they left). I don't know what they really have. and the bigger problem is that refining above 10% is the critical problem; so if they have 20, they can get to 90 as well, they just need time, which the world gives plenty of. the US more than anyone knows that you don't need the UNSC approval to invade a country, lol. especially when the UNSC make such stupid declarations lately, lol.
I'm gonna have to laugh at the 'israel holds true to their threats' part. these have never been confirmed as Israeli work
another funny trivia fact - if our prime minister goes to Turkey nowadays, he is expected to sit in jail for 18,000 years.

You do know that it was completely Israels fault when they screwed up with Turkey? They were Israels biggest ally in the region.

I'm actually not convinced Israel was a good idea. It seems like a good idea, but you can see how taking land off countries went in the run up to World War II. Not only that, but Israel is in an area which has been a zone of war and death for millennia.

it all started with the flotilla(sp?) thingie. they tried to get to Gaza port with no permission, claiming they had 'humanitary aid', when in fact that ship had many armed people and almost no humanitary aid at all. that was a failing operation on israel's side, since our intel was very faulty there. Our soldiers were expecting to get on the boat and talk it out with the captain, they did not expect to be attacked. I really don't know how the press made it look like it was our fault there.

the official UN report exonerates Israel, apparently.
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/un-report-flotilla-incident-exonerates-israel_592127.html
googled 'flotilla UN report'.

edit: read a part of the actual report, it's quite interesting you know. the bad stuff on our end are just the bad planning of the operation, and the fact that we didn't back off to reassemble when we got attacked

@Jell
Countries can go to war whenever they feel like it. That's the problem with international bodies like the UN. They don't do anything because all it takes is one veto and apparently the whole world has to sit and watch.
As far as I've heard, Israel threatens Iran after Iran threatens Israel.
And how can you say that the president and commander of their armed forces has no power in the country? He has political, religious, diplomatic, and military power, not to mention that the government of Iran is so corrupt that he also owns pretty much everyone else who has power, or he can simply threaten them.
"Lybia and Egypt have just come out of a civil war. The last thing they want right now is a new war."
Told you that, did they?
"However, the larger part of the population and more importantly the policians are in favor of cooperation with the West."
I can't find a source for this on google. From what I hear, Egypt's new president wants to antagonize the US to keep his popularity up.
"Yesterday it got leaked out that the US has a plan to invade Iran."
We also have plans for invading China and Europe. That's being prepared.
"Because they obviously have nukes. Just like Iraq."
No one has claimed this. They are trying to build nukes; they don't already have them. If they did, we wouldn't be talking about it because we'd have already invaded, with or without the UN (because the UN doesn't do anything anyways).

It doesn't matter to me. The reasons behind this action doesn't bother me. It's like the two republicans demanding Obama to explain his kill list. Sure, they didn't give a damn under the Bush administration, but so what, they're still getting something done.
