Yeah. I die when a boulders falls too early when I jump and I can't wait or I die.

It's probably barely possible or impossible.

lol I just heard that there was a study that found that Fox News viewers had a generally lower understanding of things than viewers of other channels. I cannot say that I disagree with that...

Apparently, the Simpsons cartoon made an episode that parodied a Fox News broadcast, and since the show airs on Fox, the channel forbade them from airing certain parts of that parody, because (as some people say, I don't really know) Fox is concerned that their viewers might mistake certain parts of it as real news.

lol I just saw a video where a Fox News reporter asked Hugo Chavez a question at the UN thing, and Chavez completely ignored the question and when on a tangent about how stupid Fox News is. He said that Fox News' minds are filled with poison and confusion and racism, and how they portrayed Bush as a hero when he was really a killer. He said a lot of stuff actually, and it's a good thing I understand spanish b/c he drowns out the voice of the translator:

btw, on Wednesday or Thursday of last week there were two students here who died in a car crash here because they were going like 90 miles per hour when they crashed into a bus. That's 144.84096 km/hr. On the day after that, I had a substitute teacher who subbed in their school and knew those guys.

Same here  - I can only get my driver's license when I've turned 18.

And 145 km/h is much more than required for losing the very same license, but it's not that fast, at least not on the motorway...

here in israel you can get your license at 17, but we drive waay slower. our maximum speed, and that's only in the largest, big-cities-connecting roads, is 100 km/h. however, you don't get a report unless you pass 10% over, so 110 is actually the maximum. in other countries, you're crazy.

16 is way too young to start driving. The mind hasn't developed enough by then to be a responsible driver.
Although I have been to Arizona. You either can't move (such as in Phoenix), or you won't see another driver in 3 hours (such as the deserts between the cities). Not to mention that the rules are far less complicated than in Europe. In the US, the first person to stop at a cross is the first person to drive on. Here in Europe, we have many rules about from what direction you are coming, from what type of road you are coming and what signs there are. We also drive in manual cars, rather than automatic.
So yeah, if you look at the differences between driving in the US and in Europe, it isn't such a wonder you get your license earlier.

in New Jersey, you had to be like 17 or 18 (17.5?) years old to drive, and here you only have to be 16. But the real problem isn't whether "people's minds have developed yet", it's because of the culture here. People here are pretty reckless, and they have no road-manners at all; they'll try to cut you off even if you're a mile ahead of them. It's like everyone's in one big hurry.

One time, I was walking home from school, and I was crossing the street at an intersection. I started crossing a few seconds before a school bus next to me started accelerating; it was going in the same direction I was walking in, except that it was going to turn left, and I would be in its way if it did, since I was crossing at the same time. So naturally, the driver of the bus starts honking its horn and he keeps accelerating like crazy. I was already half-way across the street when I realized that this guy wasn't going to stop at all, lol that guy probably would've run over me if I hadn't taken a step back.

And it's not like he was driving too fast and couldn't stop. He was accelerating from rest towards me.

I've also seen ugly head-on collisions in parking lots for crying out load. They happen when two guys realize that one of them has to stop or else they'd hit each other, so naturally, they both accelerate and... yeah...

he represents Arizona in the House of Representatives in Congress. excuse me, but I have to go see if Arizona has a Recall law that will let us vote this guy out of office before his term ends.

the guy who almost ran over me? probably because he didn't hit me. he just assumed that I would get out of the way.

Uh oh... I know a lot of people who don't even look both ways before crossing the street, and they tell me that no one will ever hit them (implying that no one will ever make the choice to run them over; they'll stop). So if both driver and pedestrian think that the other will stop............. I'm not sure I want to finish that thought....

I don't get it. I thought the fear of lawsuits would make Americans extra cautious in traffic. In a land where a woman won a lawsuit because her coffee was hot, it surprises me people don't just sue if they or their relatives get hit in traffic.

Thankfully, tort reform is making the United States' legal system less of a joke, so people are now much less likely to win a case for being stupid. There are hundreds of recorded cases of people suing coffee places for coffee burns after the Liebeck case, and they all got denied. My professor mentioned one case in which a man bought a coffee at Starbucks and poured it all over himself, unaware that a policeman was sitting in the car next to him, watching. So he had severe burns, had to get skin grafts, pay medical bills, and the policeman made sure his lawsuit didn't go anywhere. Funny thing, karma.

You know, when you talk about things like that you almost make me wanna study Law.

Then again, maybe not. But still.

But yeah, there's loads of cases like that, and I guess that's the reason that some of these stupid warning labels can be found every now and then

That isn't until you've been a lawyer for 2 years.
You first have to study for 4 years or so, then do 2 years as a lawyer and after that you may either continue as a lawyer or become a judge.

It takes about ten years in total to become a judge, including the time you must spend as a lawyer. I'm not even a fifth of the way there. =( Then you need to go back to school and take an intensive five-year course in the wielding of gavels.

But the years of memorization pays off in the end, because judges on average make more money than any other group in Canada, including doctors. Some judges make over $215000 per year, which is pretty crazy.

CSD sits on the couch and watches movies, then walks to the kitchen and eats at least 5 kilos of French fries, and then he goes to the computer, plays level 10 alittle, goes back to the couch, sleeps, comes back to level 10, then posts something here, and helps his cow Piggy fly out of the window.

yeah.
Uh, i think csd does something with movies and stuff(Family Reunion?)...and he studies somewhere out of home, since he uses his library computers to be here, if i remember correctly.

but jell, what do you do?
