I'm listening to it right now. And at precisely 3:30+ it sounded like the file might've gotten jammed, lol. but no offense...

Yeah there are probably still some things that I could fix, but thanks for pointing it out.

also since its midi, some of the notes and their quality just sound ugly.

there are also some really nice parts though.

I've got rid of the oboe note near the end that goes on for bars because apparantly the midi doesn't know how to play pp

Haha, Harumbai, why not just upload to Mediafire? It's faster to upload, and easier to download.

*60 long seconds later*

This is long :]

*10 minutes later*

Hm, I actually like this. I listened the the whole thing; that's rare for me. Some of the instruments, like the [oboe?], sound out of place, and the quality, like you said, isn't spectacular either, but nevertheless, I had fun listening to this.

Would you mind if I go through and boost the sound quality and convert it to an MP3? I might also take some artistic license and change some of the instruments a wee bit, if that's okay with you. I really think the oboe, for example, would sound a lot better if it were just a string section. It would fit in really nicely.

Let me know. Also, if you say yes, let me know what kind of stage this is intended for. That can help me decide which instruments should stand out a bit more.

Feel free to do what you want, what do you mean by stage?

What, you're thinking of the stage with musicians and performers? He means what type of level. You know, speed, water, ice, puzzle, etc.

I wasn't really thinking anything as per usul .

I guess the beginning is more relaxed, but then near the end it could be speed, short answer I don't really know.

How does that sound? I think it's a lot easier to listen to now.

I wonder... should we limit the number of channels used to make room for sound effects? And just in case a quintillion happens at once, which sounds get to be played? And which format? How about MID? Or WAV?

MP3s are going to be used, and there will be no trouble layering sounds.

MP3? What quality? How about low quality, medium quality, and high quality settings? And I really think I should change my gender from female to male.

All of the MP3s I've made have been 320kbps, but due to the length of Harumbai's, I compressed it a bit more... I think to 192kbps?

Audio probably won't affect gameplay quality, just loading time, something I don't think would be too bad if everything's chopped up a bit. (my songs, for example, loop in the file, which doubles their file size. Harumbai's... is screwed, haha)

I'm not sure I liked it. It reminded me a lot about CSD's melody attempt, which seems better suited for a Zelda-type game, than a platformer like Aeon

Hmm, I have mixed thoughts about yours, Jazz.

If we have bosses, it would definitely be fitting. If we don't, I'm not so sure. Like Livio said, it probably wouldn't work for an Aeon level, though I think it could be acceptable if "omg, you have 60 seconds before the level EXPLODES."

However, my main miff about it is its structure. It sounds good, but it's hard to follow, and seems like it's a bit more of just random notes that happen to sound good together. It has no main melody, verse, chorus... it's just "lalalalalalalalalalalalalala..." rather than "la, la la la, la, la la la la, la, la la la, la..."

It sounds cool though, but it needs more structure. See if you can do that! Obvious chord or instrument changes can definitely help, but don't just change the harpsichord into a bagpipe so that it's "different," haha. Feel it out!

I heard guyguy made some new music, created a new topic for it, but was told to come here. I still can't find the new music he made, though..

wow that's pretty good. but that sounds like the clip starts midway through the song. And also that melody reminds me of Mario Galaxy.... and the ending felt off tune

I have a great idea for credits music (I mean, real credits unlocked like Mario Kart Wii). We could remix all the songs used in the game and throw it together and show pictures at the same time!
