I dunno about that one. If they don't enter, it's their loss, as they have no chance at getting points.

It's mostly a cheap way to ensure that we don't end up with empty rounds. Not only do they not get points, but they would get punished. Plus, it's another thing teams have to worry about together. | | jellsprout |

I thought you liked my level better than Yaya's.
And since we are the only two judges, instead of giving my results and averaging them together, I'll just say whether I disagree or agree with your results. But I'll do that later, after I look at these levels more closely. | | Quirvy |

I can give my input as well, even though I'm not experienced in very many of these games.

I did, small memory error. The other rankings are correct, though.

Since I'm not gonna be here this weekend, I'm counting on you guys to do the medal count when Harumbai finishes his blog post.
We also need to start keeping track of the Pentathlon positions. I suggest that the points system for the pentathlon be out of the top five, where you get 5 points for being 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, and 1 for 5th. These points are strictly for the pentathlon rankings and do not affect the overall medal counts. | | Quirvy |

I think I'll help with the blog contest as its easier to read blogs than play games of which I have little experience in. I'll just trust that you and Livio know what you're talking about regarding those puzzle levels.

Blogs:
1) Splitter 2: DDA Tips and Tricks - GF4 - very well written, tons of great ideas, promotes lesser popular game. The only thing I didn't like was the hard-to-read text on that first image, but at least it had images, and plenty of them.
2) Pwn Dancing: The Lost Art. - Yaya - Hilarious, and tons of fun to read. I loved the creativity behind it.
3) krotomo's what not to do guide - krotomo - This was fun to read and had good info. I loled at the part about monster abuse: "Come on people, this is mario, not a demolition site."
4) How to Use Water Crates and Water Tap Crates - Livio - I like how it's short and to-the-point, but everyone already knows this stuff. At least it comes with a video.
5) level four - canadianstickdeath - probably the best walkthrough of HATPC level 4 you could find on the internet. Too bad everyone already knows how to beat level 4.
6) Advanced Hacking (SMW) - Jazz - Better written than the next few, and mildly interesting info.
7) Northshore Rails & 3-D Stairs Guide - soccerboy13542 - a potentially cool idea and really creative, but info isn't too special.
8) Gravity Grid - Mastering the game - Shos - Pretty useless info, but at least it's entertaining to read.
9) How to play Mario Hacks! - Teo_pl - Good info, but not written very well.

I'll read/judge all the blogs tomorrow.
Anyways, since Livio apparently agrees with Jell's rankings for the Math Olympiad(how is this an olympic sport anyways?), do we wanna release those rankings now, or release them with the Blog posts? Do us non-Livio's even have the power to release 2 competition results in one news post?

You know what I do: after you submit the final results on the judges page, go to the comps index, view source, and copy the html for the winners list. Then post that in the news post.
And you should release these together, under "Medal Count #2" | | jellsprout |

I suppose this is Harumbai's entry in the Blog contest? If so, this'll be my final ranking.
1. Splitter 2: DDA Tips and Tricks - GF4
2. krotomo's what not to do guide - krotomo
3. Pwn Dancing: The Lost Art. - Yaya
4. Creating Lifelike Environments in Knytt Stories. - Harumbai
5. How to Use Water Crates and Water Tap Crates - Livio
6. Advanced Hacking (SMW) - Jazz
7. level four - canadianstickdeath
8. Gravity Grid - Mastering the game - Shos
9. How to play Mario Hacks! - Teo_pl

Jell did you manage to not notice that everything in your post wouldn't show because you only put a colon instead of : url2 :?
1. GF4
2. Harumbai
3. Yaya
4. Kroto
5. Livio
6. CSD
7. Jazz
8. Teo
9. Shos
10. Soccerboy
It looked to me like Goldfun was the far-away winner of this competition.
I liked Harumbai's, even if it isn't vital information, same with Yaya's, my only real complaint to him being that the screenshots could have looked a lot better.
Krotos was good, but it for some reason reminded me of imtimi's guide from a while back, and I think it probably could have been made larger.
Livio's was just a normal, generic guide which was pretty good, but he made 2 errors in that brought him down. The only reason I ranked him above CSD was because of the Video.
CSD's entry is likely to be underrated, due to the fact that its level 4. It may be level 4, but it is a very good guide on how to beat level 4.
So... With Livio away, and unable to rank Harumbai's entry, what the hell are we meant to do with his rankings?

If we throw out Livio's corrupted rankings, and combine ours with shos, we get these results:
1. Goldfun4
2. Yaya
3. Harumbai
4. Kroto
5. Livio
6. CSD
7. Jazz
8. Shos
9. Teo
10. Soccerboy
combined with the math olympiad comp, we get this medal count, if I'm correct:
team GREATS: 2
KarmaBites: 8
Ninja Koopas: 8

Please never start a water comp again. Water levels are a pain to play.
1. CantStopTheFlow - Harumbai
2. Dropped - soccerboy13542
3. Treasure in the Lake - krotomo
4. Hydrodynamics - shos
5. Double Edged - Ckjr
6. SpikyOcean - sinpokman
7. The_Long_Dive - sup_mus

I was about to say that there should not be a first place for this particular competition, but then I played shos' level. And kroto's turned out to be pretty good too.
Shos' underwater puzzle cave wins me over unanimously by being easy enough for me to beat without me getting too frustrated(although there were some parts that were at times frustrating, and one trap was cheatable)
The reason I gave kroto the nod over Harumbai was because I thought that his level was more fun than Harumbai's, despite a poorly thought out opening area, which would make it very annoying for anyone who dies multiple times while playing his cave.
Basically, the way I saw it, only shos and kroto's level, I had any shot at beating. while the rest of them were really frustrating, and sup mus.
Swimming
1. Shos
2. Kroto
3. Harumbai
4. Soccerboy
5. Ckjr
6. sinpokman
7. Sup_mus

Wednesday, 3:01pm - Quirvy You're not Livio, CSD, you cannot extend competitions soley for yourself
Wednesday, 3:02pm - canadianstickdeath Livio owes us for Oscillations.
He has a point.
Unfortunately, Oscillations came in 6th place out of 7th, and this level doesn't even involve swimming.
My revised rankings:
Swimming
1. Shos
2. Kroto
3. Harumbai
4. Soccerboy
5. Ckjr
6. sinpokman
7. Sup_mus
8. CSD

Pentathlon Round 3, Three Arrows:
1. Threedom - Yaya
2. Advance and Retreat - GF4
3. OutsideReality - Harumbai
4. Dropped - soccerboy13542
5. Hydrodynamics - shos
6. Flotsam - Ckjr
7. 3 Arrows - 5 Minutes - canadianstickdeath
A pretty big improvement over the past rounds. All these levels I actually enjoyed and would probably try to finish if I didn't have to play and judge 20 levels.

I am currently having problems with getting hatpc to work. I'll see if I can get it to work right now. But at least I managed to rank one of the 3 competitions, unlike one of our other judges...
