How do you know THE MAFIA killed shos? Do you have information the average town-aligned person would not have? | | Yaya |

I might be overreading, Shos. But there's a chance he may have had a killing role?
'Shos' said: oh man shavey you seriously lynched? I'm totally going to take you down tomorrow -_-
The "take down" and "I'm" kinda give me the idea he had the ability to kill him without a lynch.

Um, no. The average town aligned person knows that if only one person died at night, and the mafia gets a night kill, then it is most reasonable to assume that the mafia caused the night kill. I will concede that this is not the ONLY possibility, but Occum's Razor should be applied liberally in a mafia game.

How should I know? I havn't had a chance to review D1's posts. I'll tell my theories when I actually have some.
Why are you jumping down my throat? I was just trying to find out who the mafia are, and you just attack me with terrible reasoning. Do you have something against revealing the mafia?

yaya, i was thinking it wasn't urgent because day 2 had practically just started, and it wasn't the first thing on my mind.
snipe it is possible that the mafia attempted a kill, but failed.
or are those shown in dando's posts?

Yes, what with roleblockers, doctors, and bulletproofs. However, someone killed shos. Unless it was totally random, there's probably something to be learned from it.
Also, I still expect a response from you, Thomas. Don't think I'll forget.

Okay well I guess you aren't scum? It's a waste of time to look at the night kill though because (assuming this was actually done by mafia) the mafia have full control over it and can use it to frame people. I believe you said you read previous games on the site before joining this one so did you read D3 of the last game? Shos (who was mafia) tried to make a case on me that was pretty much "jellsprout was suspicious of you yesterday and then he died at night." So because shos had control over the night kill he could do that. Don't fall for it in this game. | | Yuggy |

You are quiet for pretty much the entire day. But the moment a lynch threatens, you immediately rush over to cast your vote. I found your previous posts to also be quite iffy. Something feels scummy here. I had been suspicious of Jazz before, I didn't just cast a vote to get Jazz lynched. Also Jazz was still L-3 at that point, so it's not like I hammered him. I also did post a fair amount before a certain point. I will try to be more active today. | | Shavey Dave |

I really don't get why the mafia decided to kill shos. To me it looks like they just randomly voted him with no logic. The macia wouldn't do that though.

The Mafia killed shos because WHO CARES. If you wanna analyze night kills, go read the first game played on here, where the Mafia had the strategy to confuse the town through their kills.
Thomas, you should know that analysis of Night Kills are pretty worthless during early days, and only becomes even slightly useful later on.
If you think Shos was killed because he posed a serious threat to someone I reckon we'd be looking at Shavey Dave today. Coincidentally, I am already doing that. However, it shouldn't really matter. We can assume that he was town and that's that.
Silver DOES look like a good lynch, or at least wagon, at this point though. Thomas could also do with more pressure. Still not completely seeing the Soccerboy case.
Sniper is posting good things when he's not trying to analyze night kills.

I don't know. I didn't look at Silver's post again after my post until Isa pointed out how odd my post looked in response.

That was my strategy when I was Mafia. Selecting the person for the Night Kill that would make the least sense. Any kill that makes sense can be traced back to you and you don't want that to happen.

On the night kill stuff:
I wasn't suggesting we'd get conclusive evidence from it, rather that we can form multiple theories which will be (if we know anything about logic) necessarily limited to the only possible theories, and that one must therefore be correct. As the later days progress, we might then be able to eliminate certain options (PoE) until on a few (or even one) possibilities are left.
Now the possible theories look something like this (and yes they're vague and generalized. You can't instantiate a theory without specific knowledge, which we don't have.):
1. Shos was killed by the mafia because he somehow threatened them. Why would he threaten them?
a. He was targeting them.
b. He is good at mafia.
c. He was acting in a way that would disrupt their strategy.
d. He was likely to do c, but hadn't started yet.
2. Shos was killed by the mafia because one of them just didn't like him.
3. Shos was killed by the mafia randomly.
4. Shos was killed by the mafia in an effort to frame someone or otherwise mislead the town.
5. Shos was killed by an independent (SK?), which means the mafia's nk was blocked.
6. Shos was killed by a stupid vigilante.
7. Shos killed himself, which I don't really think is possible.
Anyone got anything to add to the list?
Also, why shos' role and alignment wasn't revealed:
1. He had a role that doesn't get revealed on death.
2. He was the coroner (or some such) and we won't get any more information on deaths.
Other reasons? Not sure that it's important to the scumhunt, but knowledge is power.

Either Shos has a Jesus role or another role that Dando didn't want to reveal, or the Mafia has a Janitor. I'm putting my money on the second option.

Ah, I came up with another "Why is Shos dead?"
8. He and Jazz were Lovers and therefore shos died when we lynched Jazz. Don't see it as likely, but it would be hilarious.

'snipereborn' said: b. He is good at mafia Shos would be one of the more likely people to figure out a mafia member or team, so this could be the reason. Somehow I don't feel Shavey did the kill because Shos threatened him, it seems like bad logic. But the mafia could of done it to frame Shavey, so no-one would suspect him to actually be one of the mafia... | | jellsprout |

However, there are also Thomas, Isa and me. No disrespect to Shos, he is a great player, but the three of us have a better track record on this site when it comes to finding mafia. If the mafia did actually kill because they were scared, then I'd think one of us three would be the first to go. Unless we are the mafia team of course, in which case the rest of you may as well give up.
