Survival does all kinds of checks to make sure you're not hacking. Creative has none of those checks, which makes it a lot less laggy and faster. Also, the only "grief" we've ever had was the stuff in snipere's house being stolen, which is actually stealing, and it was on the Survival part of the server.

Creative excludes checks such as speed, location, and fluid detection (in 1.3 anyway), while in Survival all of those checks are there, causing everything to be laggier. Additionally, for super pickaxe to function, you need a pickaxe in the hotbar, and the super pickaxe uses the checks as well.

I believe the block is broken, since when the block breaks, there is a sound effect, particles and a dropped item that would normally go with a broken block.

Can you give a few permissions to nicolagill (Will), like flying... I am still very tempted to boycott the competition altogether for not allowing other servers, and I am definitely not entering the Statues competition because there is no reason for the server restrictions.

Regardless, general consensus seems to be that the server should be changed to True Creative. Is there any advantage to keeping it so that you can switch gamemode? So far the only positives that I've heard for switching the non-True Creative gamemode is that it could theoretically make it harder for people to grief, and that's been disputed by others.

As of now, CommandBook doesn't like /gamemode.  I gave users permissions, but it doesn't work.  I think what is happening is that it's trying to use the vanilla command, that is built into the server, and doesn't require plugins, but they don't have permission to.
I tried a new, tiny little plugin.  Try typing /gm, which should toggle your gamemode.
If it doesn't work, let me know.

@Quirvy: After poking around a little bit, I found that the plugin that supports the multi worlds also allows you to set the default gamemode for each world.  In4b rage at me, I had no idea that I could do that, as the MultiVerse settings were done by Livio.

@Flash: Okay, try just the regular /gamemode [name] 1|0.

So you've changed it so that the default gamemode is True Creative?

Also, if the only reason for non-true-creative mode was because it made it harder to grief, what purpose does this gamemode switching thing serve? Is there any benefit to the other game mode? Wouldn't have it just been easier to change the world to true creative and have no options to switch the gamemode? I mean, if everything works as it is now, then I guess that's fine and there's no need to take further action, but I just feel like I'm missing something here.

Double post, but, I have found that true Creative is far superior to modded Creative Survival.

My average time for building an M2 (9*9*9 Menger sponge) in modded Creative Survival was about 5.8 minutes.
My average time for building an M2 (9*9*9 Menger sponge) in true Creative so far is 3.2 minutes.

It's my fault, because I TP'd to the edge of the phantom blocks. And the server doesn't like loading chunks that don't exist.

So can Bmwsu/Livio delete my .player file for different? It should be at Different\players\_Darvince.dat.
