Wait, isn't there a chance of the scum missing? There potentially could be a win?

yes the scum can miss, but if it's 3v3 it still a scum win since nothing can kill scum.
it can help only to get mylo of 4v2 instead of lylo 3v2.

Also, if 2 scums die, then the game will become completely different..

why does it suck? I think it's going to be possibly a wild, wild thing. think about it, possible scenario: one scum dies, then let's say thomas dies. then one scum decides that he wants to see the alternative win condition, and starts bussing the other for towncred like a maniac, it'll be scum fighting scum like crazybutts with no idea what their alternate is. another scenario: 2 scum die, last scum gets a WC that is completely contradicting all that he's done in the last two days of lylo. now he has to start thinking about how to correct it...

EXACTLY AND THAT SUCKS.

You receive a completely different win condition during the game, contradicting your previous one, and possibly betraying your former team mates! It is INCREDIBLY bastard to have changing win mechanics (I had that once and I regret it, but it didn't come into play and wasn't advertised in the role). You've worked as a team to win, but now that condition X has been fulfilled, your team play will be completely ignored. Everything you just did that was once beneficial is now possibly working AGAINST you, for no good reason whatsoever. Imagine if scum played a great game, then I sniped two of them during the night - poof.
Moreover town will search for scum behavior that potentially doesn't exist anymore, causing a ridiculous situation when there's no killing roles to lynch (apparently) but the game still goes on.

It is NOT a positive that it'll be a wild, wild thing.

This is important.

My belief is that you modded this game for your own amusement, not for the amusement of the players. When you're a mod, your role is to enable the players to have fun. They don't join the game for your amusement, they join it for their own. Your role is to provide a smooth game that lets the players enjoy what they came for. If you advertise a game as "having swingy mechanics", "bastard mod", "nothing special", "everyone's a cop" etc., it's your role to provide that to them. You hadn't advertised your game in any particular way prior to the start of the game, other than the Pokémon theme, and following that you host a game that's swingy AND has several bastard mod (or simply unenjoyable) mechanics. That is simply not OK in any way, shape or form.

what.?

the win condition will still be against town, you know. if you had survived and sniped two scums that means they didn't play as greatly, and even so, it wouldn't matter at all; if that last scum managed to get town to think he's townie, it's good for him, either if he's in a scumteam or if he's alone.

another aspect in this thing is that if there are 2 scums alive - then nobody will sacrifice himself, since it means they automatically lose. this will spice up the game very well.

the only thing I agree with you in that paragraph is about the swinginess of the 'chances' mechanics. I definitely think that the setup is fun; every special role has their own fun part. the Dittos as a group(who by the way didn't use their daytalk almost at all) know that they must cooperate and know that there's that last resort to think about. The cop has to make the conclusions correctly despite 'failing' at times. the doc can protect himself X times, and knows that he doesn't know what X is, and that escaping-from-a-lynch. the masons failed miserably because they literally said nothing in their topic, at all, lol. but they could. anyone who isn't a VT - I can't see why it is not enjoyable. I'll admit that your 50% was exaggerated; kinda lucky that you died quickly. but even you- would harvest powers when you successfully kill.

unenjoyable is the last word I can imply on this game.

Fun was definitely not the first word that came to my head. More like stupid or pointless, honestly. Especially upon learning there were no roleblockers.

One thing I don't understand is why nobody questioned Jell's claim about having investigative immunity? Do town roles usually even have that? It'd seem pointless since the mafia already knows all the townies and would rather just kill people than investigate them.

Why stupid or pointless? the moment you see there's no roleblockers you should understand that all the other 'unique' answers you recieved are scum, or that someone is lying.

you've been killed N4, so theoretically you had 3 pieces of info before you died. if Silver used her other ability on a town, you'd get,

'no result', 'town', 'no result'. wouldn't that make you suspicious at all? and it's enough that one scum player dies after you've investigated him so that you can understand that scums result in noresult. you just joined too late and died too early for your role to be well incorporated. too early wouldn't be if Silver did send an action the other night...

And because I was Mew and very elusive, I couldn't be investigated. I think either Silver or Yaya has tried to investigate me at some time and got the failed response. That is why Yaya was so indecisive about my alignment yesterday.
As for my role, I didn't say it was unfair or anything. I didn't pick up on there were no roleblockers until I read this board. Thus  I never had the chance to use this knowledge when playing. I don't think it was established during the day. Was it?

EDIT: Isa's post has now confused me even more as to whether I'm winning this debate.

My point is that you'd never realize through claims alone if there's a roleblocker or not, since it's most probably scum sitting on that power. You could have deducted it if you were incredibly cynical from being roleblocked when your slot was in fact Silver, but also being roleblocked on the night you replace in - that'd make no sense from either a town or scum perspective. It's not too bad in terms of balancing power - unfortunately town is still vastly overpowered this game (yet losing due to bad play).

I do think that a lot of the things shos decided to use (mostly the fact that all kills can fail, which just sucks big time) is anti-fun, pointless and annoying, but not being able to find scum is...not as pointless.

Fair enough, my angst is probably partially fueled by the frustration that I was NK'd before I could do anything important this game (hell, you probably have that feeling more than me).

Sorry to rip on Shos for something he didn't deserve. While this game may have its flaws, I would probably be more miffed right now if... other members had gone ahead and made a game that I joined. Note to self: Delete this sentence before board goes public.

lol, now I quoted you, you cannot delete me, MWAHAHAHA

hrm. well I agree that some of my actions were wrong - the killscanfail, the slip of information to soccerboy(yes...ignore that will ya XD lucky for me he's dead before it was of any confusion - I accidentally told him *somehow* that you failed in killing Darvince...), and I also mistook while sending thomas the role pm etc...

point is that as my first modding of a game, I think it came out nicely. not much damage from the imbalance on your role - you were NKed N1; no damage at all(yet) from the scumkills - they all succeeded, and as I said about soccerboy, dunno.

If I had to reassess this setup, I'd get rid of the 'odds for killing' or at least make them higher for scum, and probably that's it.

this lylo is very interesting, but only if flashmarsh cooperates...and darvince has to be active..
