I'm worried that a lot of things would break if we do that. All of our plugins are configured with the name 'InterServer' for survival. I'm currently looking into another solution for this.

Wut, I can only have one home on Different now? And the warp you set is gone? And Gregory is gone? And my WIP palace thing is gone? And and and and and and 49000000 blocks have vanished?

Are you having trouble setting multiple homes? I just tested it and it seems to be working fine

No, I tried to get to /home sagua (Gregory) and it failed.

Also my "really far" creations were at around -5000, 1000 and -6000, 4000. Really I don't see how they were that far as the diameter of the border is about 1/4 of the distance across the English Channel.

I don't see the point of adding a border and deleting so much of the map... I think it was a risky move considering two of my major creations were just a few blocks from not existing anymore.

Everyone's homes have been imported into the new server! It took a while to do, and I even had to write a script for it. I'm not sure how the server will react to having worlds defined for nonexistent players though. I just hope that it doesn't cause some strange glitches upon first login.

Sorry about that. Now that I'm done transferring the homes over, I'm continuing the upload of the backup of Different from before the world border trim. This backup is going to be placed in its own world, so that it won't overwrite anything in Different. Then we can move your creations over to the new world.

I picked this size for the world border because it cut off the really long lines on the map from people who walked far off the map. I combed through the map in order to see if there were any structures there, and every time I found one, I expanded the border to include them (which is why some structures are new the border). But what I didn't realize was that some people had built so far off the map that dynmap didn't even render them, so I was completely unaware of those structures.

The reason we have a border is because when everyone builds so far away from each other, the world feels really disjointed and you don't even want to explore it because you end up having to warp around instead. This is the reason why InterServer2 felt so lame compared to Different. It's hard to create that sense of being in a single "world" if everything is so far apart from each other. Plus, there's still a ton of empty space left in Different, so let's at least fill that up first before.

EDIT: Hey, now that homes have been added in, you can see where some of the structures were on the map.

Darn... The new border deleted my 8/9 finished skyscraper.

I do random /tploc numbers to get to places I want to build something in, but sometimes they end up pretty far away.

Are you still getting this error? It might have had something to do with the IP ban last night, and I hope nothing went wrong when I was trying to remove it.

Check the server map and look at the world called "DifferentDifferent". See if you can find your structure, and then if you roll over it, it'll show the coordinates on the top left of the screen. Tell me where it is, and I'll try to move it to regular Different.

Okay, I've allowed the use of this command again, except on this server, it's called /tppos, not /tploc. The reason this was not allowed earlier was because people kept abusing this command and getting stuck in super far away places. But I suppose that can't happen now with the world border.

EDIT: wow, I had this post in another tab for hours and forgot to submit it. Well, since I wrote this, I found a way to upload the trimmed-off sections of the map without overwriting everything else (and the server is shut down at the moment while I do the file transfer). This means that we can effectively expand the border to whatever we want now. The question is how much should we expand it to? There's no way we can have it be big enough to get everyone's structures, because that would be ridiculously huge. Right now I raised it from 4200 to 6000, which is just enough to grab the closest structures with plenty of breathing room, but it's barely half way to the next set of nearest structures.

The map for DifferentDifferent has finished rendering, and the homes at the very top didn't get rendered because they were completely disconnected from the map.

Darvince, I moved your Gregory statue to /warp Gregory. It seemed like you wanted to place it in the middle of a vast ocean, so I think I found a good spot for it.

By the way, you can visit someone else's homes by typing /home playerName:homeName

Also, while the map might not look like it, everyone's projects within the new expanded world border for were automatically reimported to Different from DifferentDifferent. They don't show up on the map yet because they have yet to get rendered (it's doing a full render now).

We can run a script that will automatically generate chunks for all of the empty space within the world border. Would you guys like to do that, or would you rather have the experience of exploring the space yourselves?

Bmwsu, can you help me finish importing DuBois from interserver2 to different? On different, it's on the -xner but  because of a chunk not saving only half of it got saved. The location of it in interserver2 is surrounded by magma cubes

I haven't been on dial-up for like 2 years. http://www.speedtest.net/result/2253133634.png

My computer however... Minecraft (I've tried the demo >_>, it's pretty outdated) uses over half my RAM on the lowest settings, if I'm lucky. So little RAM.

the paiiin THE PAIIIN

Please letme get this straight Minecraft is ram intesnse but not in the way that you will need absured numbers of ram, more like you need a good CPU for it since your are rendering so much in the world at the same time. I can boot a linux dist on a virtual pc with 500MB of ram and still run at a decent FPS. So you proberly can run minecraft since it runs quite well on older machines if you just conifg it a bit and accept low settings

Also your internet connection never ever (except for a very few games) decides your in game FPS

My computer is just always lagging b/c the memory usage is always at like 90% and Minecraft uses more of it than any other program I have. I've tried the demo on my computer and even on the lowest settings, unless I'm in a cave or something it gets unplayable very quickly. IDK we'll see if I get it how it plays.
