Excuse me, this may seem like a bit too much, but can you please raise the building limit? I would like to start 3 projects, but they are all over 600 meters tall, and exist in real life.

800 max height would be perfect.
Thank you!
Kooler.
That would be nice. Then I could expand my WIP roller coaster upwards some more.

I just read the posts about Atvelonis' name's origin (thread that I apparently don't keep up with, since I don't have minecraft). I never read it as A. T. Velonis, but as at-velonis, kind of like how krotomo is K. R. Otomo, but I always read him as kro-to-mo
Bear in mind that I'm not a minecraft guy, but:

800 blocks, are you saying? If my memory serves me correctly, the current limit is at 60 blocks high, so you're seriously asking them to not double it, not triple it, not quadruple it, but to whatever-it's-called-when-you-multiply-it-by-13 it? I find your chances of that getting approved unlikely, unless the 800 applies to some other term, like they have in game meters which are separate from blocks. That would be a VERY large structure. Might I suggest you instead attempt to create scaled down versions of them, or make buildings drawing from them as inspiration?

What do you guys think about making a new Interguild project on the MC server? Kinda like Yug City or Olympic City?
Even though I wouldn't be involved, I think it's a good idea. I suggested the Olympic City comp in hopes that that would become another yug city or whatever, but I gather that basically 4-6 buildings got built there, and then the IO ended and no one has touched it since (but I could be wrong since I have never been on the server and can't see Olympic City). I would personally suggest trying to make a project out of making Olympic City more respectable, improving current buildings, creating new ones, and moving some of the less desirable buildings away from the city (see: Oven Refridgerator debate). If that's unachievable or it's already high quality, then yeah, start something new. But me? I can't do anything since I don't have minecraft. It's all up to you guys to organize that stuff.
But I do think that starting a project is a great idea because it encourages more activity on the server, particularly group work, so it's not just one guy working on his own stuff but several people working on multiple things in the same general area.

Well, not necessarily. A high structure that's designed we'll and isn't just a huge World Edit tower may look good. Although something 1800 feet high sounds a bit ridiculous in Minecraft, especially because MC players are incredibly lazy when it comes to traveling, vertically OR horizontally.

There was a Minecraft update some time ago that raised the building limit to 255 and I think we also gained the ability to configure the height limit with that update, if I remember correctly.
But yeah, a building that huge would be pretty much impossible to fully look at.

Quirvy, actually the height limit is 256 by default, and I'm actually trying to build two huge structure by hand and 1 with a bit of WorldEdit, and by hand.

Yes, it does allow you to config the height since I tried setting up a Bukkit server on my IP and failed, and I shall share with you two which structures they are.

That's a rather pointless response to Kooler's question.
But I do kind of agree with FlashMarsh here, such a tall building may be kind of weird. And for someone with a not-so-great computer, that could lag their game, so I suggest you downsize those plans a bit, Kooler.

Annoying, sort of... It would stand out like an orange fish in a sea of blue fish, but that's not my main concern. Too high of anything, really, would cause lag to everyone who's in the vicinity of the anything. But yes, something that absurdly tall would be annoying.

We already have experienced 128 block high columns serving no greater purpose, and now we have one close to the portal that's...I don't know, 255 blocks high? It looks incredibly ugly. No noteworthy buildings that I know of NEED to be higher than that.
