One week and two days ago, I posted a simple, 2 word sentence in the chatbox. It said:

Spoiler:

(DO NOT OPEN IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO GAME OF THRONES SPOILERS)

This was IMMEDIATELY deleted by a staff, possibly Yaya.

In protest over my freedom of speech being taken away from me, I wrote:

"Winston Smith loved Big Brother."

Now, this spoiler is as big as the one above. Actually, I believe it is even BIGGER, MUCH bigger, yet the post was not deleted. In fact, you can still see it at the bottom of the chatbox page as of now! I called the staff out on their hypocrisy, but I didn't get a response. Now I will argue WHY I believe the Winston Smith spoiler is bigger. You can see my points below.

Joffrey is just ONE out of HUNDREDS of characters in Game of Thrones. Even if you know what happens to him, you can still enjoy the stories of all the other characters, which have NOT been spoiled.

However, Winston Smith is the MAIN character of 1984. The story almost follows him all the way through! His defining characteristic is that he has rebellious thoughts against Big Brother. But at the end, that's taken away from him. In fact, "Winston Smith loved Big Brother" is a paraphrase of the LAST LINE OF THE BOOK! When you know he falls into the government agenda, the book is completely SPOILED!

Even when Joffrey
Spoiler:
, the book/show still goes on. But when Winston Smith finally loves Big Brother, the book is OVER! There is no more story for Winston Smith!

"1984 is like 100 years old anyway. EVERYONE knows what happens in the end."

WRONG! And also irrelevant, because you know what? EVERYONE knows what happens to Joffrey too! Even I know what happens to Joffrey and I haven't watched a SINGLE minute or read a SINGLE page of Game of Thrones! It was all over EVERY site when the episode aired! ITS OLD NEWS! If you watch GAme of Thrones then you probably watched every single episode already so you know what happens in that one. And if you dont watch Game of Thrones, then you dont care about Game of throne spoilers and probably know that one already!

STAFF OF THE INTERGUILD, EXPLAIN WHY YOU DELETED MY POST.

In the here and now, there are a lot more people picking up Game of Thrones versus people thinking "I think I'll read 1984 today". Additionally, I have no clue what it means when you say that he loved Big Brother. Who is Big Brother? Why does he love him? How does their love spoil the entire book? With Game of Thrones, having not seen it, now as soon as I see said character, I know right off the bat that

Actually, I don't watch Game of Thrones, I haven't read any of the books and have not heard of Joffrey until now.  Thanks for ruining it for me.

Isa, that is why I always recommend to read and/or watch a story twice. That way you get both the joy of speculation and twists, and you get to experience the story while already knowing everything. It is a win/win.

As for that Smith guy loving Big Brother, I find it to be an abomination of a show and I don't understand why anyone would want to watch Big Brother or those other reality game shows, but if that guy who I can only assume is Will Smith's kid or something loves the show so much, who am I to stop him? To each his own.

Refrain from posting any sort of spoilers about Game of Thrones in the chatbox. There is a topic for that, which you made.
