As some of you may know, I made a server. I set up the plugins etc today, and the world yesterday. Anyone can join, but be warned, we have LogBlock. And if you grief, I will tell everyone. I won't be on until tomorrow after school, but feel free to go on and build.

Are you using Creative mode to build or do you play in Survival as well?

We built the spawn in creative mode, but I (I can't speak for my brother) will be playing in survival at least for some of the time.

Why am I not whitelisted? And why is there a whitelist to begin with?

I don't even think there is one. I went on a couple of times, and logged out pretty soon after.

Yeah, there isn't supposed to be. Now there is for some reason. I have no idea why.

I whitelisted it in order to troubleshoot somen glitches. it'll be un-whitelisted in about 10 minutes

so what is the difference bwtween a creative world and a regular world?  

Regular world is survival, creative world is, well, creative...

In minecraft, a normal world is called a "survival" world. In this version, players must gather materials by hand and can only move around like a normal person: walking, running, jumping, taking a boat, or riding a minecart etc. It's also possible for players to die.
In a creative world, players have infinite resources, can fly at will, and cannot be killed (generally speaking).

In the past, the creative mode did not exist, so our server was heavily modded to allow similar functionality. So, it was a survival world that was modded so that players could give themselves as much of any resource as they wanted, and allowed players to use flying mods. Now, with the creative mode released, it is much more efficient at runtime for servers to just use the built in version, rather than relying on all those mods. It's also much more stable and doesn't require a huge update process whenever minecraft releases a new patch.

Jorster I know you are the owner of the server, but I'm getting a feeling this isn't a good idea.

When TTP gave a lot of ranks out on his server, the server got very bad with all of the people abusing powers. It became much less like a survival server and we decided to start again on a fresh map and new ranks.

The only power being given away is mobdisguise, for mobs. And then a [Winner] rank. We also have logblock, so any griefs by the winner will promptyl be rolled back.

Your server sounds really fun! I must go on it some time but right now I'm kinda busy.

Since I hate being griefed, I'm building about 9000 blocks from spawn, lol.
