What is it?

AirMech is an upcoming indie F2P multiplayer strategy game loosely based on an ancient Megadrive/Genesis game called Herzog Zwei where you control an 'AirMech' that can transform between a ground and air unit.

The aim of the game is to build units, capture strategic locations on the map, and destroy your opponents base. Think of it as a true Action RTS, where you have all the elements of a standard RTS, but also with the ability to control a super-unitm your Airmech.

Business model?

You can buy skins and other cosmetics, XP boosts and Kudos boosts exclusively with real money. Everything else can also be bought with Kudos, an in-game currency which can be earned by playing the game or completing various challenges ('quests'.

It is a very good game Try looking for husky or totalbiscuit on youtube both of them have given this game great respons and it is very fun it is a very fun fast pased game, arena based so not even close of flyff/runescape since they are mmorpgs and are freemium games (free to play but to have the slightest bit of fun you need to pay a bit of money each month (5-10usd/month))

Runescape was actually my first instinct too. The screenie is like a pimped out Al-Kharid. How I remember that name, I don't know.

It sounds like nothing too important will require $, which is good, the character designs/graphics look awesome, and I'm a fan of giant robots more than the next guy. Try and remember to give me a heads up when it's fully released.

COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.
Give me +karma. Give me +karma.

I guess since this is the Airmech thread, I might as well talk about my current loadout.

I use the Chrome variant of the Flying Saucer as my mech because its abilities are extemely good, especially Abduction and Blink. Abduction is useful for when the enemy brings out a 'super-unit' because you can just stand over it and convert it to your side. Blink is good for escaping from tricky situations and for chasing Airmechs trying to escape after a dogfight.

I use Lexi as a pilot because I can take advange of the fact that I'm very fast and can strafe around bullets, and I can turn to shoot instantly. Lexi gives you 15% more damage for 15% less armour, and also makes you much more likely to shoot down missiles.

I have a repair bot because none of the other items really interest me. It gives me faster armour regeneration.

Lunchboxes because they're really good at preventing minor attack because they can replenish the shield on your base. Seekers for anti-Airmech defence. Gemini to make up the main part of my attacks. Moneymakers because they're pretty much required for playing decently because otherwise you simply don't get enough resources. Bombs for breaking heavy defences. Gatty for cheaper defence than when I use T99s, which are better but cost too much for my liking. Patchers because I don't have enough Kudos to buy the better Ratchets. Soldiers for capturing outposts.
