I'm not sure how active the site was this weekend, since I wasn't here, but it felt like all last week was very slow. So we need to do something to fix that.

First of all, we need to reform the weekly update. The biggest problem is the levels and videos. Maybe instead of showing them all, we should feature top levels. but even that requires that you play a good number of levels per week. So perhaps, it should be as Jebby suggested, that someone else take over these updates. And it'd add some diversity to the news page.

But the original idea for the weekly update was to keep people updated with interesting things that happened. In fact, it was inspired by that idea for a podcast, so maybe instead of making it in such a list form, we should just write regularly. Break up the post, not by "highlights, guides, levels, vids, future", but instead by games, including Aeon updates, and then a segment for other interesting stuff such as forum shenanigans.

For example: I could start a new weekly update by talking about the most important things that happened, anything that stood out. Then I'd simply change the subject to HATPC-related stuff: any levels or videos that stood out; any new glitches, articles, etc. Then I'd talk about any newly accepted games and their stuff, then Aeon updates and considerable shifts in development. And it'd all flow neatly, like a conversation, rather than a list of facts. And it should be brief (b/c neither the reader nor the writer will want a giant wall of text), and maybe include an image or two.

seems like a good idea. I've got some other ideas for this reform topic, but I'll post them later since they need some more explaining.
EDIT: speaking of images, when we accept new games, we should make some screenshots, to put in the news post and in the game's homepage. And I'll reform the video archive, and game homepages soon, too.

i agree for this paragraph. however, i do think that after presenting news of each game, the levels/videos for this game this week should be presented, not only the outstanding ones. if you think it'll be hard to check every level and write a line about it, you can leave some of the levels to the next week's update - the ones that were added in the weekend.

I think that for the weekly update it should be like the first or second weekly update. And done by somebody else other than you (since you have been busy working on Aeon) And please make sure that other person is NOT Quirvy.

Or we could just post an automatically-generated list of links to all levels posted within the past week, and then select from the list a few outstanding levels to comment on and recommend.

I'll make the weekly update this week and show you what I mean.
