Yes, it's true, I may not be able to play it at all. Here's what happend: I have a program on my computer that needs a disk for it to work, but it is unreadable, and my dad and I found this out by trying to fix it, and in the process, we found out it corrupted some of the disk files (well I found that out with Minecraft), so when I try to play it, the part of the screen that should have dirt on it in the launcher is black, then when I try to log in, the Minecraft screen turns black. I tried to re-install it, but it says that the disk is unreadable ( ), so I can't delete anything, so if you know how to fix this, tell me how!

Restart your computer and press and hold the F8 key to enter the boot menu. Start your computer in Safe Mode. Now run your virus and malware scanners and remove anything you may find. If it can't find anything, you may need to update your drivers.

When you can, try deleating bin in .minecraft. That generally sorts out black screens of death.

Actually, it's all fixed, it was just that program that needed the disk messing up my computer, so when I started my computer in safe mode, it froze, so I restarted it and Chkdsk went through the C: files and fixed everything, so far I haven't had any problems. Also that program now works!

No problem!

Minecraft is a great game, I just don't think I have the time to play it. Also, my parents wouldn't allow me to buy it, because I've bought so many things lately.

Well if you have the money, then ask them, because then you can show them the money and they will probably say yes, and if they don't, then wait for a while.

Plus getting it before 18 November will cost €15 and after, when the full version is released it will cost €20. So get it now!

Or you can say $21.80, because that's how much I payed for it.

Seriously? Notch is already releasing the full version? The game can barely be called alpha stage as it currently is.

Why do you say that?  Have you seen the new features he's adding?  Between now and the actual release, they are doing mostly bug fixes, anyway.

Features he's adding. Later. Meaning that game actually isn't finished at all. Like I said, it isn't even out of alpha stage yet.

What do you mean later?  All the stuff in the prereleases is going to be in the final version.  It's not being added later, it'd being added now.  I don't see how it's still in alpha stage; it's a complete game if you ask me, even how it is now without prereleases..

For all of the things I buy, I always say that I'll pay them back the price. Even then, they don't always accept.

Wait to get the money first, then hold it in their face when you ask, saying it's your money, and you'll trade them $21 dollars in cash for $21 off their credit card.  It helps a lot.  Trust me.

That's what I do, although since I've been buying so many things lately my mom won't allow me to buy things too much anymore. I bought something last Sunday.

Notch is still going to be adding features to the full game. It's not just finished for good.

He says that he'll be adding more as the game goes on, and there are still tons of game-breaking glitches. I'd say it'd be in semi-beta stage by the full release.

Oo
How can you say Minecraft is in alpha stage. It's working fine, no huge bug issues and actually it's being beta tested by you guys. You know, Minecraft isn't a game you release and let be, it will get improved constantly, but so far it sure is good enough for being released.
Maybe you should read about alpha and beta stages regarding game programming, please. No offense.

guys, the fact that a game is good and working does not mean it's the full version. go to Kongregate's Sarah's run and play the preview. that is the most magnificent thing I played lately - it's a game by itself. but again - the full game will have much more. I may not know much about MC, but I do know that there are creeps there. why is that? do they contribute somehow? it's negligible. I assume the beta will have it better, and once tested, full version will be released.
