I. Israel

In the encompassing depths of the cradle of civilization,
Lived well and grew a young man of a singular kind, and he flourished.
Brilliance uncommon was present before he could freely converse or
Lift up his head; at so young an age clear was his genius and talent.
Physics was taught him and soon in his hands was a genuine diploma,
And in the field of mathematics his studies were never neglected.
Chess he played wielding the deftness of one much experienced in tactics.
These he accomplished in fullness before he had entered adulthood.
Ere that: for scarcely more grown than a child was he now, but already,
So much had he to his name, but his zenith - it wouldn't be reached here.
Fate had decreed it. America: that was where he was to go to.

II. America

There he met Quirvy, a girl of great beauty who loved him with candour.
Love her he did, perhaps more than she loved him, yet all was in order.

this will never be finished. anyway it was inspired by evangeline, a really sad poem that is perhaps the most famous example of dactylic hexameter in the history of english poetry. not counting works translated from greek and latin of course such as the iliad. i thought it would be suited for a poem for shos because he's from the mediterranean and i wanted to get that ancient heroic feel.

As a kid I always thought tennisballs looked delicious and I liked biting them. I still remember the feel of the fuzz on my teeth and tongue.
