The praise system is pretty much a joke.

This'll help it out a little bit, though, but the fact that just about everyone praises their own level, regardless of it's quality, makes the system hard to take seriously.

I think that we should add a system alongside it, where you rate the caves from a score of 0-10, like we have for videos, except that you would be able to enter your own custom number, instead of being limited to whole numbers and .5's. Of course, the numbers you enter would be rounded to the nearest tenth, to keep things neat, and of course, negative scores and scores above 10 wouldn't go through.

the idea with the praise system was that there would be some people who praise every level, but then there would also be others who praise only the best levels, thus balancing it out. But I guess it only works with a lot of members.

I think I will add a 1-10 rating system, though. That and a genre system. I'm having second thoughts on that "category" idea, so maybe I'll just let people use the series system however they'd like, but the question is: should it be renamed?

I'm not saying to get rid of the praise system altogether, just to add that 0-10 system alongside it. The praise system would be useful in the sense that it allows the cavemaker to know how many people liked the cave, or in other words the success and popularity, while the rating system would be more for general feedback, so it's a much more specific way of determining a caves success.

But as I said, if you include it, you should probably make it so that you enter your score into a little text-box, and that gets rounded up to the nearest tenth.

Of course, we'll need to help some of our more aggressive users know what is a 10, and what isn't, or else this system could be killed too.

I'll start the rating system right now. I don't think it should take long.
I probably will let you vote 0, but that sounds cheap. and a textbox would definitely be more user-friendly.

I'll also make it so that people can edit/delete their rates.

Well, we shouldn't ever have to use it. It's more in case somehow someone makes a ridiculously bad cave, and someone wants to rate it a 0.6 or something.
