Highlights of the Week
Saturday: Sometime last week, egruntz changed his name to Florida, which inspired Quirvy to change his name to Georgia, which inspired Catta to change her name to Chelinka.
Saturday: An important political leadership international conference meeting for discussion takes place in the Staff Forum. In this discussion, we consider major site problems such as: how to get more members, how should we prioritize our plans, what steps need to be taken immediately for growth, and so on. We ultimately decide to push back construction of Aeon to winter time (even though official Aeon construction has only really lasted for 4 days, from last week) so that we could focus on building up site activity first. This will be done by revamping the major sections of the site in order to accommodate for improved browsing and to make room for new features that we have planned and are currently planning.
Saturday: Real Karma rankings as well as other statistics were added to the bottom of the forum index. Throughout the week, users watch closely as we battle competitively for rankings. Quirvy shares his analysis on this week's rankings.
Sunday I add a Google Search bar to the sidebar. Along with that I add colored scrollbars for IE users.
Sunday CSD suggests that Aeon be coded in a way that will let users mix-and-match certain properties of tiles to create their own custom tiles. I am amazed by this idea and greatly inspired, but I am tormented by the fact that the staff has decided to prioritize on other things but Aeon.
Sunday I embark on my epic quest to get the Interguild more recognized by Google. First step: renamed the article system as the guides system.
Monday My quest continues with the CaveList (when I really should have been working on the galleries). On the CaveList, I made the title and author of each level show up as the overall title of the page. But then I get carried away and totally re-ordered some of the coding to be more efficient, and then I started adding a whole new feature to the CaveList that now allows you to type in the title of any level into the Quick Search, and if it finds exactly one match, then it'll redirect you to the username. I also made the search much more friendly by making it ignore/combine spaces/underscores to help you find more results.
Monday My quest still continues, and I change the structure of the quick links on the top of every page. Now you guys can't even find your way around the site without accidentally clicking on Levels when trying to get to the Forums....
Monday: Magnapple joins the site! At one point, his karma:post ratio was 4:1, but then he had to post again on Wednesday....
Some Random Time This Week- Probably Tuesday:To the CaveList, I made it start tracking the number of treasures per level. But it wasn't until Thursday that anyone noticed, and then I added browsing options for it...
Tuesday: I start to really get to work on revamping the galleries.
Wednesday: I continue with the galleries.
Thursday: Quirvy uploads his 100th cave!
Thursday: My gallery-2.0 work files have been discovered! Members go through my work-in-progress and are impressed by the Random Level generator, and also by the improved browsing process of the galleries. Today I made the basic frame-work for the new add-levels page, which is actually pretty amazing compared to our current one
Friday As I type this, it's 2:28am Interguild time (12:26am my time) and it is RAINING. This is the first real rain we've had in months! And even though it was monsoon season, it took this long to rain.

Guides
On Sunday, I wrote The Starter's Guide to HATPC. While writing it, I activated the "failed profanity check error" in the Cave Upload page, and it ended up semi-auto freezing my favorite cave-uploading account: cave_upload.

Levels
There are 9 new levels this week:
CompactV by Harumbai: I have not played this cave, but wow so far everyone has been giving this cave some great ratings. Looks amazing, too.
Triathlon by shos: Shos' first cave in over six months. And it's totally shos-god-level difficulty too. The best part is that he thinks that it isn't that hard..... But you should watch his video for newbs on the first few traps of this cave; it looks really cool
Flooding Finally by krotomo: Kro describes this level as an "annoying, boring, bad, sad, lame, shame level", and so far no one has tried it...
The Vaulting by Ckjr: This is a cool but hard level by ckjr which features speed traps involving falling stacks of steel crates.
Great Greens by krotomo: Don't know much about this level. I never got the chance to try it and so far there are no recorded comments about it b/c the only place I've seen this referenced in was the chatbox...
Ultra-Invasion by Georgia: One of Quirvy's "VERY VERY VERY early caves". Lol the description for it is at least somewhat entertaining.
Cave Arrow by Georgia: Another early cave of Quirvy's, featuring the most generic name you can think of.
Highly Hidden by krotomo: I actually tried this cave for no reason, but no one else has. Doesn't look too bad.
CaveMaker by Bmwsu: I still have no idea why this is called CaveMaker. Anyway, everyone claims that the second trap is impossible but then Harumbai got passed it, so I'm assuming he fixed it. And now ckjr said something about the third trap, so you guys better all go back and play this now that the second trap is seemingly possible.

Videos
There are 6 new videos this week:
Thwumping around by Ckjr: A video of a DDA?
Endless Evergreens by krotomo: It's a walkthrough released 3 days after the cave was made, and several people complained that it was released too early. But not me, because I'm smart enough to NOT watch the video yet.
Quirvy owning shos' cave by Georgia: Quirvy's take on how hard Triathlon is.
teh first few traps of triathlon - guide for newbs by shos and shos and shos: Shos' take on how hard Triathlon is.
Realm of Dying Brain by canadianstickdeath: The IO Walkthrough category has just been super competitive so far. And now we have the RODB walkthrough and it actually rivals Dando's Snowflake of Doom walkthrough. This is just crazy...
A Moment in Time - Dungeon 3 (Act 1) by canadianstickdeath: Catta, CSD, and I are probably the only people on this site who pay attention to Zelda Classic, but now that CSD has released his Act 1 for his Level 3, I have been inspired to play it once again. The only issue if if I'll actually play it soon... since it's so long....

Future Stuff
Bleh, I'm finally writing this part of the post... These weekly updates take a ton of time to write, even with this auto-post-generator... And we're too lazy to make notes throughout the week of what to put in, so we end up doing even more work..

So anyway, I'm going to finish Galleries 2.0 very soon (in fact it's been renamed to the Interguild User Level Database
Add a New Game [remember my epic quest to be recognized by Google?]), and once I finish that, I'll move on to the Video Archive which is in a much worse state than the the galleries. I'm also going to start offering up file-uploading for games like Zelda Classic, which need to be shared in .qst files. It'll be really controlled so that we can hopefully prevent the upload of a virus by some psycho and it'll be 5 times more secure than the horrible system we have set up right now.

I also said that we pushed back Aeon's development so that we could prioritize on other stuff first, like the Gallery and Video revamps, which are much needed. I will probably continue to work on Aeon every now and then just because I'll want to, but there are more important projects to be worked on at this time.

yeah maybe I should do them every week from now. It's actually not that bad to make, even if it did take a long time... but it was pretty entertaining to write it all up.

Its quite entertaining to see updates written with an opinionated view. But then its only the views of one person.

I'm surprised that you didn't give the Georgia Controversy any news coverage. Maybe it's cuz you lost the argument

Hey! Any of you staff members could have edited that weekly update to perfection, so I don't want to hear complaining from the staff.
