Actually, many staff and non-staff members are on vacation right now. Isa will be back in about a week, Dando in about a month, and jell will be back on Sunday. Jazz/Rosabellis/Ros is supposedly travelling from Canada to Arizona right now but he still seems to be online regularly. Yaya is still in Florida, and I'm not sure when he gets back, but hopefully he's contributing to the economy down there. Meanwhile, evan (who changed his username to snowman) won't be on the Internet much because of national examinations in Singapore in September and October. And for unstated reasons, Silver is leaving for what seems to be forever. Last week on Sunday, Team Judgernauts (Jell, Quirvy, and me) released IO Medal Count #3 and then on the following Friday, we released IO Medal Count #4. Along with that latest medal count, I extended the deadline for the last categories of the Interguild Olympics. They were originally scheduled to end on that Friday night, but since it was the end of the IO, it would've been more appropriate to close it on Sunday night, which was yesterday. I was thinking of making all the team boards public, but the KarmaBites are still working on their collab. It may also be an interesting idea to wait until all judging is done so that the Team Judgernauts Board could also be released. It sure was one crazy weekend. We were all submitting last-minute IO entries. Especially us in the Ninja Koopas, we made like 6 collabs all this weekend, even with people from other teams: [Electric Box] Easy Peasy for Electric Box by rosabellis and Angelfish [SMF] Ninjamario Time! by rosabellis and Woodstock and Angelfish [HATPC] NinjaMiniCave by rosabellis and Ckjr [HATPC] Team3Collab by Livio and Ckjr and rosabellis [HATPC] The level that was left unfinished by rosabellis and Ckjr and GF4 [HATPC] LolWut by GF4 and Livio That Electric Box level was actually taken out of the collab comp after Ros realized that it was very bad. NinjaMiniCave was made as a merge between three smaller collab attempts, and I was originally one of the authors, but then we realized that we wouldn't be allowed to submit Team3Collab since it was made by the same group of people. So I took my section out, and then GF4 salvaged it and made LolWut with it, submitting it 20 minutes before the comp ended. Other last minute entries include: [FR2] Suspiciously Generic FR2 Level by Livio - 11:58 pm [FR2] 1 Line - 5 Minutes by canadianstickdeath - 11:59 pm I made that level when I realized that the original level I was working on wasn't going to get finished in time. And CSD was able to submit his into the competition in time even with his Dial-Up. To see the other IO entries, see the official comp pages: IO 2010 - Cycling (Free Rider 2), IO 2010 Pentathlon Round 5 - Aeon, and IO 2010 - Tennis (Collaborative Levels). There were 43 levels made since the last weekly update, but here are some highlights:
[SMF] Team GREATS Collab Level by Team GREATS [Aeon] Bounce by soccerboy13542 [Aeon] Neezles's Rollercoaster (DDA) by Kittikiyana [Red Remover] Intimidation by GF4 [HATPC] Lifetime by GF4 [FR2] Rock Climbing by soccerboy13542 [ZC] Forthcoming KarmaBites Entry by canadianstickdeath and Dekudude There's been an interesting new trend starting when it comes to Free Rider 2 levels. Rather than making high-flying, line-rider-esque tracks, we've been making challenging obstacle tracks where you must safely maneuver your bike over several uneven surfaces. These kinds of levels are really fun, and more of you guys should experiment with that style. There are four new videos this week: [HATPC] Next Mezanine Trailer by qbreadd [SMW] Kaizo Mario World Stage 3 by krotomo [Red Remover] Tricks and Timing Walkthrough by krotomo [SMW] Stupid Mario Level 4 by rosabellis And only two blog posts were made this week: The Tile Directory by DeathBunni X, and Beware of Glitch: FR2 Level Code Inaccuracy by Livio. Anyway, with so many people not here this week, I'm not sure when we'll be able to judge the final IO entries. I was thinking maybe Quirvy and shos could help me so that we wouldn't have to wait until next week to start judging. Shos has recently been requesting more serious judging, although it seems many people just agreed with him because they didn't like how they placed in the comps. Also, a new member has joined called the_grimace. He's dekudude's friend and he's interested in making sound effects for Aeon. Speaking of Aeon, I've made considerable progress this week on improving the setup of options. And now that the IO is over, I should be making even more progress. Meanwhile, I have two weeks left before I go off to college. I wonder if it's realistic to try to get another Aeon Demo out before then... User Comments (9)
