I am moving into a new appartment this weekend. The building is brand new and doesn't have internet yet, so I probably be far less active for some time. I should get internet sometime next week or the week after that, but I'm not entirely sure when.

Big. I've got 20 m^2 bedroom all for myself. I have a two-person bed, a desk, a bookcase and a closet and I'm still using only half the room. I think I'll decorate further in December once I have more time, but for now I'm keeping it all as it is.
I'm also sharing the kitchen/living room and bathroom with 3 other guys. We've had diner and drinks a few times already and they are pretty chill guys.
The best part is that I live directly next to all the university buildings. I spend more time waiting for the elevator in my building than actually walking/cycling to college.

So the semester's starting to end, which means that school's really starting to get tough. My schedule for the next few weeks does not look pretty, and one of the biggest things on it is to get an Aeon demo out by Christmas. | | Cedric |

I will be away from December 28th until January 1st I believe. As for that mafia game, I will take my iPod so I know I can read the thread but I don't know about posting. I don't really want to take my laptop with me when I go. | | Quirvy |

I hate parents who ground their kids based on their school grades. Kids should be allowed to learn at their own pace. It's not like grounding kids is going to make them do better in school, instead, it might make them do worse if they're upset. | | Quirvy |

I can say from experience that punishment didn't actually help reverse my bad grades back in middle school. I did terrible way back then, and they took away my TV and computer privileges because they figured that me constantly doing either instead of homework was the big thing. But it didn't help. It wasn't until high school that I changed, I'm not sure how or why, but it was much for the better.
But that shouldn't be a signal to not care about grades right now. I was lucky I was able to turn my grades around suddenly upon entering high school.
My only suggestion is that you try to do all the work assigned to you no matter how annoying or boring it is. If you do all your work, you shouldn't get anything lower than a C, and should usually get at least a B(or at least here in my public school systems that's how it would turn out)
Of course for all I know you're getting grounded for having too many Cs or something.

I don't recall any bad grades at all lol >< but either way I was never grounded; it just doesn't exist in Israel. there are other punishments, but I really didn't mind them. when I was furious at my parents I just went to my room closed the door and started reading.

I did poorly in a few classes, but that was mainly because school was terribly boring. I breezed through nearly all my classes with literally no effort at all. So for the few classes that require some effort, namely Latin, Greek, French and German, I generally averaged between a 5/10 and 6/10.
Then as I advanced into high school I didn't have to take Greek anymore, German and French were entirely about reading comprehension and Latin was entirely about grammar and syntax instead of learning words. I finished German and French moderately above average and I became one of the best Latin students of my year.
In short, school sucks and the only reason I didn't excel during my entire career through it is because I was too brilliant. And this while my high/middle school (those are combined into a single school in the Netherlands) was notorious for being the most difficult high school in the Netherlands to get through.

lol jell, I know da feelin about the boredome. I didn't study almost at all in the last 6 years of my school; in the last one, I came to school for 8 hours a week, spending the rest of my time playing games or in the university(look at my kongregate account lol).
we didn't study such things, but we did study other stupid stuff; for me it was bible, history, citizenship, literature, etc...

Yeah, I've never been grounded to my room/from any privileges or anything. My parents realize I'm just as likely to get a good grade or a bad grade with or without technology and stuff. And if I don't do my work, my folks don't notice becausemy school's grading scale is ****** up hilariously in which your your test and projects "content mastery" weigh 90% of your overall grade, and homework/classwork "work habits" weighs 10%. I got a 36% in my work habits of precalculus, but an overall A in the class for the quarter.
I also hate my school, but for different reasons. My town is slowly evolving into a ghetto of douche-ness. The more people that move in, the more crime and drugs enter the city, the more crime and drug related kids enter the schools. 1/4 of my school is on drugs and another half is freaking orange from tanning all the time. In my Government class, we've discussed how the town will probably be the next Cleveland in 20-30 years (Cleveland is famous for being the shadiest and dumpiest part of Ohio).
COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.

No, I enjoyed high school. It felt like the teachers there were a lot better than those in middle school. In middle school there's a maturity difference between the teachers and students, and as a result the teachers are just teachers to the students, and the students are just students to the teachers. But in high school the maturity gap shrinks, and it feels like you get to know your teachers a little bit better and they get to know all of their students a bit better.
And also all they did in middle school was tell you about how hard high school was going to be, and enforce policies that help you prepare for high school, but aren't actually enforced in high school, contrary to what they would like us to believe.
It's entirely possible I just got stuck with a pretty crappy middle school, though.
