It's not beneficial, it doesn't actively hurt me in the short run at least, but still not telling, for the same reason nobody claimed what they submitted last game I hosted.

I can say that I am not Ditto though...but why would you spoil your theory either way? If it was true, and if I was Mafia, I'd still just say "No, I am not Ditto.".

No. Your theory only makes sense in your head because you had an idea on how you'd run a Pokémon game, not in any other context. Your theory is not based on anything substantial taken from this game, other than the fact that they both involve Pokémon.

Do you think that I'm not good enough of a player to fake a Pokémon? You should know that if a player fakeclaims without any real need (because look, there's no need for me to fakeclaim on page 1 of day 1 if I am Mafia) he'll be prepared.
Moreover, if I was Mafia but not Ditto, my actual Pokémon would be pretty decent to claim, you know. It's obviously evil enough to be a Mafia, so it makes sense to be a townsperson looking like Mafia too.

Again, you're theory is based on what YOU would have done as a moderator, which most probably differs severely from what Shos has done.

Soccerboy your theory is weird. What do you expect to gain from knowing Isa's role name? More information for your scum team?

I'm inclined to believe Isa's claim for now. Soccer, you are pushing much too hard to get isa to reveal info. That's very bad. Remember last game when yaya did that? Right now, the only fact of Isa's role that we need to know is that he will flip mafia on cop investigations. Also, notice that Isa is playing an anti-town role, but in a pro-town way, unlike a certain moderator who shall remain nameless.
The problem with Isa is that the only way to confirm his claim is by lynching him or by lynching all the mafia if he's telling the truth. So, Isa is a good lynch today if there the mafia doesn't slip, but it would be better to lynch a scummier person if we can.
On that note, I find your behaviour odd. I don't remember you being this aggressive before, which isn't bad by itself, but unusual behaviour begs the question why? From my perspective, you could either be:
1. Mafia trying to force an early mislynch or information fishing
2. A confused townie.
The problem I have with this is that, while "knowing" Isa's rolename might make you feel better, it's not clear that it would help the town. For instance, lets say Isa claims something powerful-sounding, like Mewtwo (who is a psychic rage monster, basically), what would that mean? Maybe because he's playing an evil pokemon he's mafia. But then why would he claim Mewtwo if he was mafia and knew he'd get lynched? So asking him to nameclaim is really just giving the mafia a chance to spread misinformation or feeding the mafia info.

I do think that you are a good enough player to fake it which is why I'm skeptical about whether or not you ARE faking it. There's no need for you to fakeclaim on D1, but I bet that you could. Not everyone here is pro at scumhunting or whatever. You could use this to your advantage by faking a role...

@Thomas and Sniper: I didn't expect to gain anything unless Isa named a pokemon that had no relationship whatsoever to his role.   By knowing the pokemon, it would take years to try to guess what secondary ability he would have.

That's mostly why I'm suspicious. Personally, I wouldn't mind giving away my pokemon name unless I was a ditto, in which case I would try to defend myself or come up with a fake pokemon to hide as.

I would just assume that when a ditto takes over a role, that they would not be able to take over the ability.

You do not know if I have any secondary abilities or not. Leave it at that.

It is primarily in the interest of Mafia to guess what abilities another player has, and since I think that you'd put your thoughts on public display, you guessing my role helps the Mafia and the Mafia only.


It's always better to lynch scummy persons. There's no sense in lynching me if you believe I am town, just because I was granted this role. Other than that, I have no problems with your post and it displays solid reasoning, so for the moment, Snipereborn is my strongest town read.

The way I originally planned this out seems a little bit different from Shos' plan. Either that or he just did a bad job of explaining in the first post.  

Yeah, I am putting all of my thoughts on hold until we get clarification from Shos.

It's poor modding to let only some players in on very vital information.

Anyway - if Shos confirms that the Mafia are Dittos, I'm very much inclined to put Soccerboy down as not-Mafia. If he denies having that specific conversation, we lynch SoccerMafiaboy. If he doesn't want to clarify, he's a bad mod for telling things in private to players that influences everyone and should be public knowledge - assuming Soccerboy is telling the truth.

Anyone object to refraining from posting until shos comes on and confirms? I feel like the game might be better if we wait for shos to come on and explain everything.

Oi, I missed something I see.
When we've discussed the game in the Mafia 6? topic I took soccerboy's idea in that, and apparantly I forgot to add in the first post of this topic that information. the theme is that there are a bunch of Dittos pretending to be other pokemon as the mafia team.

so in case someone missed it, The mafia are dittos.

About soccerboy, obviously I do not respond to that. If I say that such an occurance happened, it will confirm him town, and if I say that it didn't, it will confirm him mafia. So no answer, and this way no game is ruined in any way.
